I am all for another female character, but I don't think we are going to get an even class split. Two mages always seems to be the norm and I don't see any need for a third. Since they cut Tevinter from the game, I don't see the point in having a Tevinter magister who is hell bent on purging corruption from his homeland when we won't go there, since most of his character's premise/personal quest is pointless without actually going to Tevinter. I suspect that he was the original scotch bonnet candy and that Solas was drafted up as his replacement.
It sounds like there's actually a border area between Tevinter and Nevarra that will still be in the game, Mike and Mark were chatting about it on Twitter ages ago. It included an old section of the Imperial Highway near Perivantium and Solas. (Solas the city, not Solas the elf.)
And we know there will still be Tevinter characters, because David Gaider talked about including them in a post he wrote on Tumblr. We know that there'll be at least one Tevinter base or location, because a room in the World of DA environments trailer had a big Tevinter banner in it.
(And if the "Venatori" cultists who were in the PAX demo are from Tevinter, a certain rogue magister could easily make destroying them the start of his campaign against the worst excesses of his homeland.)
Finally, I think Bioware may have actually subtly confirmed a third mage, in Vivienne's blog entry earlier today. It talks about an "unnamed" Inquisition mage, and in some later threads about it Allan Schumacher made some comments that could be interpreted as that mage not being Solas. The apostate, elf, after all, has already been named.
