When I got home and went through the last stuff in this thread, there were like... three pages or more in this thread I had to go through, most of which was pertaining to Cullen and people wanting him.
I'm fine with Cullen, I just think maybe people are... overenthusiastic? I dunno. Personally whoever they add, I'm sure they'll be interesting even if I don't like the character (I never cared for Morrigan, but she is certainly interesting, all the same).
It's another person stating that the Cullen fans are the loudest on this thread. Truthfully, when it comes to him, I've seen far more people complaining about him than anything.
Besides, I know there is a lot of people like me: We could take or leave Cullen, but we have been requesting a Templar POV for our party in Inquisition. To be honest, I'm still holding out some hope that one of the unrevealed companions is a lady.
Me, too; as I said earlier, my hope for the last two is Cullen and an unknown female.
Those of us who hang out in the Cullen thread hardly ever bring him up, unless the topic is actually about... potential companions... which, to be quite frank, is what this thread is all about. I would expect to see copious mentions of Cullen, Cole, Dorian, and any of the other characters who've been leaked or appeared in concept art and so have an obvious chance of being companions.
I wouldn't even be mentioning him so much if the possibility of his appearing in the game as a companion or major NPC weren't so huge!!! I have other characters I adore, but it would be pointless to talk about, say, Alain or Nathaniel here lol
Plus the fact is Cullen is just a very well-written character with immense potential for growth. There aren't too many NPCs from previous games who fit that bill. If I weren't his fan I'd get tired of his seeing his name, but then again, it's not his fans' fault he was leaked in that survey LOL
Then again, I can't imagine not being a Cullen fan because damn it I'm just a fan of good writing and great characters!

People always seem overly enthusiastic when it's about a character you don't particularly care for. I feel the same about Morrigan.
In this thread, I only ever saw the same old thing: Someone asks why everyone loves Cullen so much, and people replied. Which is what's happening here... again... "Why is everyone talking about Cullen so much?" "Could we please talk about someone else besides Cullen?" Which invites people to respond... about Cullen LOL

I think they mean this particular thread, which, I guess, we've been pretty vocal in? (It mostly seems like a lot of back-and-forth conversations about Cullen, so it's not like it's just the fans here, man!) But it's not like there's a whole lot of other possible options to go on. Dorian, Flaily, Cole, and Cullen are all the people we've got to go on here, the Grey Warden if you don't assume he's guaranteed.

Yeah, that's pretty much all we have to go on at this point in the discussion of potential companions, with the wild card "random female" possibility.

I'd really like if we get more than three lady companions. An elf or a dwarf would be cool. I've no opinion on Cullen either way. It's all good. I've never had a companion I truly hated. Not enjoyed as much as others, sure, but never hated.
To be honest, I think the main reason people always mention Cullen despite liking him or not is because of the possibility of him being a companion and because he's a familiar face among the new characters we know nothing of nor have any substantial info to discuss.
For better or worse, people have already formed an opinion about him despite the limited interaction we had with him in the previews games.Besides from what I've seen so far the fans contain their enthusiasm about it and take this possibility with a grain of salt more than anyone...So yeah.
Back on topic,I'd like to see a female dwarf companion.

How about Evangeline then? Rhys can be our third mage!
Because wouldn't that be karmic glory. Giving you the uber pretty ex-Templar... and her husband.

I can relate to feeling worried that I won't find a LI I like, but the comments about the female characters not being "feminine" enough are what really get to me!

You know, out of all the characters from Asunder, I want to see them return the most. Sorry, while I really like Cole, I really fell in love with those two.
