Some people want total mage freedom and to hang templars in public executions, some people want mages to be kept under lock and key, Ned Stark wants to run back to Winterfell and stick his head in the snow..

Meeran isn't a good all around character and he is possibly dead, so he isn't even a recommendation for a companion character and why would he affect Cullen being ac companion?! Two different situations!

The only aversion I have to having Cullen in the party is that I don't want a full 1/3rd of the companions to be people we have previous knowledge of. Varric and Cass are already there. And they are already going to have background between them(that I'm very interested in seeing, don't get me wrong. Them having a pre-established relationship is a very different/interesting dynamic potentially).However,  I don't really want Varric having a bunch of banter with Cullen like "Remember that time you almost killed me and all my friends? But at the last minute you decided not to?' My aversion to Cole is similar in that he is a character that you could potentially have a bunch of background on.

 

I do hope Cullen and Cole are in the game, and prominently featured too! If the speculation about the major advisors for the different keeps holds true, I can even see them implementing romances like Steve/Sam were in Mass Effect 3 even, given how well liked Cullen is and all.

 

So, mustache man and I guess the Scribe, since there was that new picture? I'm very intrigued by what the Scribes weapon would be. Duel weild most likely right?

What do you feel the lack of weapons signify?

 

Most likely, that they're advisors and not party members.

While we never got 3 mage companions in the previous games, I think there is a higher chance of us getting it this time because Circles are no more. I'm not sure why we didn't get more mage companions in DAO, considering we were fighting the Blight, though not everyone believed us.
