Kinda random, but I really hope either Iron Bull or the Grey Warden (if he is indeed a companion) are rogues instead of warriors, if only because their look screams warrior stereotype and it'd be nice for appearances to be deceiving in one case. Besides, I'll probably just use Cassandra for all my sword-and-shield needs as I'm hoping to use her a lot
Would one of them being a rogue but looking like a warrior make one of them... deceptive wax fruit?
I just hope, sort of really, desperately hope one of the two remaining will be a female character so the female/male ratio will be at least close to equal. It would also be nice to have another female warrior but since Bara Grey Warden is probably a companion and definitely a warrior, that's not likely to happen- there really is no reason they'll go for the ridiculously unbalanced class ratio again.
Still, as much as I would like Cole to be a companion, in my opinion it would be best if the remaining two were a female rogue and a male mage. The Dragon Age franchise in general really needs more mage mages and female warriors/rogues instead of the usual pigeonholed fantasy class gender roles of male warriors and female mages (especially since they were really, really bad with that in Origins).
If they go for that, the characters in question will most likely be new ones. Not sure if That Is Mahogany Guy is among them, though- his clothes can look like either a mage or a rogue's, but he could easily be an NPC or agent too.

I'm torn on the issue. I'd love to see Cole and Dorian make it into the game, but I feel bad about the huge gender slant. I think it's most likely that Cole and an unknown female will be the final companions. Dorian probably got cut because they didn't think the Tevinter cause was important enough to this plot, that's my guess.

Am I the only one that things that Cole would be REALLY difficult to fit in gameplay wise. Cuz he is... a rogue? A Mage? Why not both?

I don't think Cole would be a problem class wise. Aside from his use of blood magic, I recall from the book that he wasn't able to cast spells like any other mage. Plus he wears leather and fights with a dagger. It wouldn't be too hard to make him a Rogue with his own specialization focused around his blood magic abilities.

Personally, I got my money on Adrian as the last mage companion and the character from Asunder they said would show up. While I don't agree with everything she did in the book (will not post spoilers), I think she would make an awesome counter to Vivienne. Adrian is the complete opposite to Vivienne in almost every way, she is very pro-independence for mages, hot tempered, very forceful personality, and no where near as obsessed with her clothes. I think having the pair of them around would make for some very outstanding companion dialogue, not to mention strong proponents for their respective viewpoints.
Well, I'm 99.9% sure that Adrian appeared in a concept art. So there's that. Not sure if she'll be a companion though. A major NPC, perhaps?

What do I want: Cullen (warrior) and unknown female (any race/class).
What do I think we'll get: Mustache Dude (unknown class) and Cole.
Of course I've wanted to romance Cullen (and thus see his character grow even more) since first playing DA2, but it would be a small consolation to see him instead occupy a MAJOR role as an NPC (not a minor one). If I can talk to him and he's part of the inquisition in his own way, that'd be pretty cool

Mustache Dude interests me not one bit, but in his defense, he's appeared in one concept art, period, lol! Poor guy.
So with Mustache Dude, Grey Warden, Solas, Varric, and Iron Bull, I'll hope that at least the Warden and the Bull are romance-able, at least one of them. Preferably both because I like to have multiple playthroughs
For the women, I like all three so far and would be happy romancing any of them.

Agree with this. I hope one of the last two companions is a woman. (A female dwarf, even)
Even though it's possible that third rogue will be Cole, it seems... bizarre to have a 6-3 gender ratio.
That could apply to Cassandra, Vivienne, Cullen, Iron Bull, and/or Varric. I'm not sure how you zeroed in on Cole there.
