you both like her.
I really don't like Merril. I just felt like adding that Warrior/Rogue Hawke are also not helpless before Idunna.

Sorry JB-that was directed at Lob and G.
Never had party with no mage in it... I did however chose the aggressive option with a mage in party and Hawke gutted her and I had to search the room for evidence. Hawke didn't ask for help in that one.
Really? I love the Varric, Fenris and Aveline combo.
It works VERY well.
Considering she doesn't know the first thing about human culture and why mages are kept away, she probably shouldn't meddle with it.
She equates human mages and their role in society to that of Dalish keepers which they are not.
"It seems wasteful for humans to lock their mages away where they can't do any good."
Sweetie, our mages enslaved us and even today they kill five year old boys to entertain guest at parties. You're not human or culturally Andrastian so kindly stay out of our affairs.
That makes sense. I suppose the same argument can be made if Templars try to pry into Dalish affairs, can't it? ![]()

Sure, if they stay out of human lands.
Hawke is the PC and his/her companions are pretty much invincible... If Idunna done that to any ole smoe...They were working on and have moderate success in infecting Templars/Templar recruits.
Nah I am good.
;0 If you're sure...

Merrill spent nearly a decade in a human city by the time she's willing to defend the Circle of Kirkwall over an act that they didn't commit. You might want to try a different argument. And you realize that the Imperium enslaved the elves as well, right?

I prefer fighter hawke, Varric, Sebastian, and either Fenris or Aveline.
You need a mage to dispel Idunna's mind control. Mage Hawke, Merrill, Bethany and Anders can all do it. Non Mage Hawke can just resist long enough to gut her.

According to the Wiki a Templar Hawke can resist her, but how THAT can happen I have no clue.
Round and around and around and around we go...
Ooooh now, tell me now, tell me now, tell me now you know.

And she still admitted she had no connection, no roots and no ties to the place besides Hawke.
She didn't "live" in the city, it was just the place she did her research.

And what are you? In nightmare that combo is shitty unless your Hawke is a mage. The greatest challenge of DA2 is beating legacy in nightmare without Anders. If you want to have even a greater challenge don't even bring Merril. Also make sure you fight Malvernis. Results? pressed reload button over hundred times.
No matter your emotion towards Anders he was the bread and butter of DA2 companions along with Aveline.

You, Me, Kissy faces.

Templars are products of immense mental discipline.
The average warrior has physical and mental discipline as well, just not to their extent.

And why should I? What right does Merril have to interfere in the affairs of humans? It's not her people, it's not her culture, it's not her land.

Get off my land ya crazy she beast! ![]()

Merrill did live in the city, despite her focus on building an Eluvian. She also made friends, like Nyssa.

Well, then, Orlais should get the hell off the Dales.

Ask that from Templars who attacked the Dalish. Also that applies to Fenris too as he does the same as Merril but chooses the opposite side.

I had some issues with my group, but by no means was it that hard. You just play different without mages.
Merril lives ten years ilegally in a human city and suddenly she feels she feels entitled to pass judgement on a millenia old system that humans created? What giver her the right?

I guess Merrill is one of those people who is willing to help those in need, which is why she supports defending the Starkhaven mages from the rapist Karras and his templars.

The Dalish are violent squatters in foreign land. The Templars are well within their right to kick them off.
And Fenris is culturally Andrastian. He has lived within human society all his life.
