So, is there somethin new in the issue? Not really. Tbh, they don't even follow the Shadow Broker's dossier info on Mordin-Kirrahe's mission on Tuchanka. For instance, there're no mentions about fighting against krogan scouts, or 'bout Operative Rentola getting injured (in fact, Rentola wasn't mentioned at all). Actually, the issue contradicts the dossier at some points like info on salarian casualities. There's no K.I.A. in the issue at all despite the dossier fact that operatives Jirin and Chorel were killed.

And Maelon's not injured, too.

 

The most awesome thing about the issue is uncovering Kirrahe's first name, Chaleen. Chaleen Kirrahe, that's right

 

But this panel's confusing me. I used to think Mordin wasn't a Kirrahe's big fan. Know what? They're FRIENDS. Friendship is magic, sure it is.

 

And the worst drawing ever. I couldn't tell the salarians apart.

I was wondering if Chaleen was really Kirrahe. Did I miss a line where they confirmed it, or was it meant to be sort of unclear? 

 

My favorite part was Mordin's conversation with the female krogan. It was interesting to see what led him to doubt the genophage and how he got his battle scars. The krogan temple scenery was very cool too.

Well, I wouldn't fit in the Apple Bloom's standards of sureness:

 

--but yes, I'm pretty sure it was Kirrahe. Some noname, bossy and hero-type salarian, Mordin's old friend, hanging out on the exact mission Kirrahe were partaking at? Pah-lease.

 

And besides, there's no other hints on Kirrahe but only that one. And we know from the Shadow Broker's dossier that Kirrahe was on that mission. So, that Chaleen guy is the only one who might be Kirrahe.

When the comics written by actual devs can't even keep their own lore straight, is it any surprise that the mess that is Deception exists? I get the impression that Mac Walters writes the story he wants to write in the comics, with no consideration taken for what was already established in the games or in other EU sources.

Its comic integrity has *never* been particularly great by *any* stretch whatsoever. Let "Super Mac", as you love to call him, continue down the road of mediocre Dark Horse deals he's been involved with since before even crowd-pleaser ME2 was released.

The line art I've seen of this comic run ceases to amaze me. It's like the artist doesn't even try.

After a bunch of strong editions I thought this was very underwelming and poor drawn.
