Good. Try using a bow every now and then and you will add to the fun.

Nice screenshot.

I had literally just reached that point in the game and it made me take a screenshot and alt-tab to this thread :D

Yeah, got a bow equipped too.

Exactly, you've got all the nudity in the world in RL, and then some more virtually at your fingertips in the internet, and yet a video game scene where someone follows someone else into a shower fully clothed, probably so they each undress the other, is just "so awkward" and blah blah blah whatever else the complaint is.

Missiing the point there a bit aren't you? the point she was making was that she can't see why they don't include it if they are willing to include such graphic details as that (or the screenshot I posted in the OP).

And no-one has yet said why that is acceptable yet a breast or a penis isn't; especially given that one is horrible and could disgust you and the other is cutting someone's head off. What are you all so afraid/disgusted off that you would prefer to have people be dismembered?

Right, back to the dismemberment.

You're missing my point entirely. It's awkward because it's son unrealistic and it pulls me out of the game. Not awkward in a way that it makes me embarrassed, but in a way that the scene is so clumsy that it verges on the edge of stupidity.

This dear fellows is a beautiful appeal to mockery and ridicule fallacy!

That's exactly what I was getting at.  Awkward in the "why would they do that" sort of way.

For what it is worth I am 34. I'd like to think the that I can cope with seeing a naked body in digital form and not think the world is over. My g/f who is also 34, and with who I was discussing this over (much to her boredom) this afternoon thinks it's stupid that things like this:

::image snipped::

are fine, but digital nipples? OH NO!!!

Maybe that's not fine either?  Maybe DAO was over the top and silly in portraying blood spraying everywhere?

Yes, really. I don't think having Trayner or Ashely in their underwear had any negative effect on their scenes at all. I just think you want to see nudity just because.

Traynor looks like she's either mentally handicap or possibly having a stroke, and therefore forgot to fully undress before turning on the shower, and thus soaking the pair of underwear she would presumably need to wear on the walk back to her cabin, presuming she didn't bring a change a cloths, which I didn't see on her. Shepard walking into the shower in full military regalia is just wtf worthy.

Why aren't people bothered with their clothes getting wet? It bothers me when my clothes get wet in the rain and I gotta sit there, feeling it drying as I get in my car and drive home from whatever I was doing before getting caught in the rain.

It's funny when you think about it ME1 didn't have this level of gore, but it did have better romance scenes. ME2 was somewhere in the middle and then ME3 was the complete opposite of ME1

They're gonna ruin their clothes with that water though. Then they'll need to be that awkward period of waiting in the cabin for traynors undergarments to dry, or maybe we can have a scene of her asking for a spare set from shepard. I can't imagine wearing someone elses underwear, even if it is clean, isn't a little bit weird. In either case it's all a lot weirder then simply getting naked to take a shower, which is pretty much the norm for everyone unless at a public beach shower.

If you're going to have a scene where the characters would reaslistically be nude then have them nude for heaven's sake. If that bothers you then don't have a reason for such a scene at all, and therefore drop the scene (you don't absolutely need sex for a relationship). Agree with the sentiment that there's something weird about being quite happy to show the creation of death but utter horror from some at anything much to do with creating life.

I remember when a kiss was all that was needed to show two characters in a relationship, and you could avoid having these awkward scenes all together.

Pretty awkward when the zip on your flies gets stuck. Back on topic I think the awkward being referred to is all the nonsense created in order to avoid nudity, not sex itself.

Nothing when a company is willing to show sex done, or at least shoot it right.

Bioware is not that company, and so they shouldn't go into that territory of showing off hot men and women doing the deed. They demonstrated repeatedly that the closest they're willing to come is underwear intercourse. And because of that, I think a kiss would be more suitable for what they are willing to show.

And monsters do not count for the simple fact that everything else about them is pretty much un-fuckable.

to repeat what I said way back on the first page:

Why are these threads always about outage at the lack of nudity and not at the graphic depiction of an exploding head?

I think Bob explained on the first page, it's the current North America cultural norm. This complaint would probably be best directed at that, not at video games.  Mass Effect is a commercial video game, not a counter-culture art-piece against that specific norm.

I didn't find it terribly unrealistic, and it didn't pull me out of the game at all, but I've only played that scene once in-game. Frankly, since the underwear makes just a small appearance in the scene, I don't think it bothered anyone that much.

You are not me so what you experienced is completely different from what I experienced. For your second point all you have to do is read previous comments in this thread or on the video I just posted to see that it did in fact bother people.

And as I replied: the rating of the game determines that it is likely to be here, as it would in an 18 rated film.

You know what i'm done. Obviously you are going to believe whatever the hell you want to believe so why should I even bother. A word of advice, never claim you know what others are feeling especially when they have no reason to lie to you as it only makes you look like a smug bastard.

There are instructional videos available, and I am sure David and Obadiah can point you in the direction of ones where they stay either fully clothed or it tastefully fades to black to ensure you don't have to see all that unpleasantness and start having lustful thoughts. You need protecting from these sort of things.

You know, it's precisely posts like that which force me to assume you're baffled by the idea of storytellers not wanting sex or explicit nudity in their narrative.

You know, I think I've really given you far too much credit in this thread. It's clear you really do believe boobies are a magic wand that automatically makes any story better. Instant maturity. Gotta have them boobies or you're not mature.
