You know, it's precisely posts like that which force me to assume you're baffled by the idea of storytellers not wanting sex or explicit nudity in their narrative.

You know, I think I've really given you far too much credit in this thread. It's overwhelmingly clear you really do believe boobies are a magic wand that automatically makes any story better. Gotta have them boobies or you're not mature.

1) Bioware have sex in the narrative, and also nudity

2) Stop using the word explicit, you know it's deliberately misleading and says more about your opionion of sex and nudity than it does mine

3) Boobies? Are you 6?

4) I never said it did make stories better. Stop with the strawman arguments

5) You still haven't answered why you would heavily frown on it

6) You haven't said why gore or other adult themese are acceptable but breasts or penises aren't

7) I give you too much credit by responding to your posts, when you are clearly nothing more than a professional troll who affects an aura of intellectual superiority and condescension over others. Which is quite childishly amusing.

Oh, but you did. You see, as long as you continue to make these ridiculously silly assumptions that BioWare refrains from showing explicit nudity because although they really want to, they feel they need to 'protect' their audience, I have no choice but to in turn assume you're incapable of understanding the plain and simple fact, that no, that isn't the reason at all, that BioWare is fully aware their audience can handle explicit nudity but chooses not to show it regardless because they feel such a thing is unfitting.

That in turn forces me to conclude that you believe nudity is a magic wand which is always, always a good thing and automatically makes any 'mature' story so much better. There's no other good explanation, you see?

I'd love to assume better of you, but you understand I just can't do that when you say very silly things like this. So you see, it is your fault. You understand that, right?

And as I replied: the rating of the game determines that it is likely to be here, as it would in an 18 rated film.

Does the content determine the rating, or does the rating determine the content?

Is it okay to put in nudity for no other reason than because it has a mature rating,?  Shouldn't the rating simply reflect what's already in the game?

It depends (as it does in films) what rating is being aimed at. FIlms are cut or edited to achieve certain ratings based on censor feedback. But yes, you are correct in that regard; however Bioware have clearlygone for the 'M' rating through choice of scenes and themes.

Nudity for the sake of nudity is not the point (which is what i posted earlier); however if you are going to have scenes where characters are supposed to be nude and engage in sex/erotic scenes, then why not do it? Especially if you are already going for an 'M' and thus your audience is old enough to not get all excited about it.

Well I didn't say that did I, I said it about you. And you are obsessed with explicit nudity. Why is that?

Also, you going to answer my points? Or should I just assume you are incapable of understanding?

Proving me right, again and again.

then why not do it?

You're incapable of understanding that more nudity is not always better. Incapable of comprehending any reason why a storyteller might not want to show it.

It's so icky and sinful. Repent.

But hey, there's a simple solution! Parental Controls!!! If the XBox has parental controls set, the game shows the scene with clothes on. If it does not for the account, then it shows the scene with the clothes off. But then that puts the responsibility on the parents, right? Can't have that.

In before someone says "resources": They already have gore keyed to this in games, so sorry, there is no case.

EDIT: Reminder that this discussion got started because Liara got nudity, while the others did not. Hence it was selective nudity.

You are incapable of answering my questions whilst jumping to the wrong conclusions with selective quotes taken out of context, therefore we are at an impasse. Bad luck old chap.

Have a reward, some 'explicit' nudity:

-Stop with the ass shots. Just...wtf...no...stop. They make no sense.

-Stop with the underwear. Huh? How are they supposed to do anything? Wait, fully clothed in the shower? WTF?

-Explicit content settings. Implement them. That's it.

-When you have to ask yourself "Would this really ever happen in any realistic romantic scenario?", you're starting to realize that you've done it wrong

-It's not about porn. It's about not looking stupid. I'll have to use mods in order to have my later FemShep romance Traynor and not facepalm at it.

-If they're happy to be this direct about someone who looks more like a human cosplaying as an alien species (Liara/Asari), I view that at utter hypocrisy. That they want the perverted looks from players with Miranda stuff, and show allll of Liara, but everyone else/full body nudity is just too much.

ME1 did it best. Not ideal, but the best so far. The others are weird.

And don't worry about controversy. All Fox did was sell your game for you.

A ridiculous idea. Gaider has written several times on why fans are pretty clueless when they proclaim 'Just give the player options' to be the perfect solution to a problem. Perhaps you should go read that.

What do you mean by 'realistic'? As in a romance that kind of romance that most people in real life would probably have? Dear God, I hope not. So yes, I overwhelmingly want romance content to be filled with stuff that would never really happen for most people 'realistically.'

Wow. This is just laughable. Have you never seen an episode of Star Trek or Star Wars in your entire life?

Ok David.

EDIT: Actually, I'll bite.

1)Where was Gaider during Action Mode (a way to give shooter players an option) discussions? Oh, right, doing Dragon Age. It's like he has his own opinions and I have mine.

2)Realistic as in not having sex in a full uniform as Commander Shepard. Leave THAT for fanfiction.

3)I've seen all series of Star Trek, and all episodes of TNG, DSN, Voyager. Seen all Star Wars films, read EU material, played several games. So?

1) Gaider isn't always correct. Many people have called out points of his that are incorrect and he has acknowledged several of them. That said, you're seriously overblowing and overestimating the response from fans in this regard (and I'm pretty sure it's so that you can scoff at the made up position).

2) I've experienced many relationships from real life that put the ones you see in fiction to shame. Btw, I'll be you for a minute; I'm guessing the reason you don't like realistic romances in person is because you've never had one.

3) Have you never explained your conclusion with evidence and reason? You're suggesting a third party answer and response to a very heavily skewed and strawmanned argument (granted, they all are) and presenting a counter to it that isn't even a counter.

Hey Bob/David/Whatever you want to call yourself! Can we all just agree that if Bioware wants to include romance into their games then they need to handle it with a little more maturity. Also, if you want to complain about explicit sex go to Ride to Hell: Retribution's forums and talk there.

No, we really can't agree with that at all, seeing I've stated about a half-dozen times now that whatever problems people have with BioWare not showing nudity has really nothing whatsoever to do with 'maturity.'

Bob, you've just shown yourself to be a complete and total troll. You don't actually care about what this topic is about or what all of the other threads you've trolled have talked about. What you care about is the fuzzy warm feeling you get goading people on with subjects that one has deep ties too. I have yet to see you even be remotely nice to anyone you talk to that doesn't kiss the posts in which you type.

To others who read this, please stop feeding the troll. It will only go away if we ignore it. That's really the only way to get rid of them.

Sincerely, E.T.C.

You notice something? You would never hear characters in fiction use a word like 'trolling' would you? I mean, the idea of Garrus or Liara or someone using it is just odd and out of place.

That probably has something to do with it being used in childish accusations such as this.

My goodness, never would have I imagined that I would be labeled a 'troll' for refuting the ridiculous claim that a developer is immature for not showing nudity.

Just gonna step in there:

How does fade to black fit into this?  Isn't it a mature way of handling romance?
