Bob from Accounting is never going to answer a question that challenges his world view. This is what makes this fun. I'll back up Massive here.

1) Gaider isn't always right.

2) Why is a nude Liara love scene okay while a nude human love scene not okay? You still haven't answered this question. Do you have a problem with this?

Look we're not asking for a long 20 to 30 minute drawn out love scene, but FFS all we're asking is for equal treatment. A scene of reasonable length (like Liara's) and a nice gradual fade to black would be fine.

Why is Liara's love scene in ME1 and ME3 treated differently and better than the others? Is it the writer's not so subtle hint to the players that "This is your canon love interest"? One could easily take it that way.

In before "that's just silly."

My problem is that some seem to think even Liara wasn't "nude enough" or something.

You notice something? You would never hear characters in fiction use a word like 'trolling' would you? I mean, the idea of Garrus or Liara or someone using it is just odd and out of place.

That probably has something to do with it being used in childish accusations such as this.

My goodness, never would have I imagined that I would be labeled a 'troll' for refuting the ridiculous claim that a developer is immature for not showing nudity.

The Doctor has explicitly said words like this. And he'd solo the Reapers in minutes. There's absolutely nothing childish or immature with how words can be used. They can be used that way. As can your false act of sophistication and authority.

Also, you're not immature for suggesting something. You're immature in how you act like it. Really you're about the most immature person here.

And lastly, to quote the good Doctor, what's the point of being a grown-up if you can't be childish?

Then I'd say that those people are not really reasonable. Overall, if each scene was pretty much done the same general way, I doubt anyone would really have much room to complain. Some always will, but it doesn't matter.

Hey SwobyJ? How would you fix this problem?

Which problem in particular?

I guess I'll list off a few things.

-Show off Miranda's body all they want during scenes that relate to her sexually. If I'm talking to her on QEC, stop with the silliness.

-Full breasts. M Rated game. I'm in support of a toggle to change this for the player (a few alternate camera angles). I don't believe in the slippery slope here.

-Nothing like full length sex scenes. The ME1 ones were pretty awesome IMO, at least with Liara.

-Seeing man ass in a romance scene shouldn't be an issue if a man is involved. Kinda the point. Same with female characters.

-Fades to black aren't good for cutting scenes off. They're to make a scene that would otherwise drag on IRL, turn into a cinematic experience. They work sometimes. They didn't in ME3. (though I have my personal theories on why they used them in this way, which would make it okay..but its just a theory)

Honestly, everything should go in a M rated game of this kind except penis and vagina, when it comes to body parts.

And only then, because the character models of the XB360 gen of Bioware games are just too much like action figures to not be lolololworthy. It just wouldn't work visually, but that's about it. Graphics are good enough now for ass and breasts that it works quite well. And it does, for Liara in particular as we see. There's no problems with her scenes when it comes to sexual content. Just where's the love for everyone else, especially the humans?

Next gen, well, we'll have to see. I still find it amusing how we can see Michelangelo's 'David' in even some PG-13 stuff, but because the genitalia is so small, it's 'okay'.

Allow me to reiterate the two points I've made in this thread:

1. BioWare doesn't need to show nudity to be mature.

2. Whatever complaints people have about love interest content have nothing to do with maturity.

I'm sure plenty of people will whine, yet again, that this is a strawman as well. It isn't, of course.

Weren't all the romance scenes the same in ME1?

No actually, the one thing they kept consistent with romances throughout the trilogy was Liara having the longest scene.

No. Liara had her whole 'ooo pink colors and asari exotic' stuff. More body parts, where Ashley was just tossed around the bed I guess.

But both romance scene types were tasteful, interesting, and erotic. Still prefer them. I like the bit with Thane though, in ME2.

Bioware has chosen to make the game include sex, and i applaud them for that as in the main It's handled fairly well.

However if you are going to start including scenes like liara's and want to actually get people invested in it then you can't have people sitting thinking "well liara is naked why isn't femshep?" "Where the hell have liara's nipples gone?" "Why is this supposedly erotic scene with traynor laughable?" "Why isn't manshep taking his clothes off as Miranda rides him?".
It has nothing to do with immaturity (that is being taken care of by a few posters here) but bioware taking a risk and actually doing a proper job on scenes that they are already implementing.
I know american civilisation will collapse at the sight of a nipple but you know what? That's what happens when you have sex, you get naked. Deal with it.

Michaelangelo's David was in Hock's collection in ME2, and someone had taken a chisel to it there so even small stone genitals appear to need editing out.

David isn't capable of handling criticism of his waifu, any who don't show utter slavish devotion to his exact world view are filthy unheroic peasants deserving of scorn.

You're going to have to learn to 'deal with' the simple and obvious fact that most storytellers aren't interested in showing it, and that's really just the end of it. And of the ones that do, many are just looking for a cheap and easy way to feign maturity. I'm sure that works wonders for you, but it's less effective for myself.

Or they could just do away with sex scenes altogether and let romances stand on their own.

I'm sure we all have a good enough imagination that we can do away with underwear on our own.

It is someone sad for me, I suppose. What's the old saying? "A man is measured by the strength of his opponents." That's certainly a bit tragic. But this is an internet forum, after all. Nobody's going to win a Nobel Prize off what happens here.

But yes, they do need to. What would people like Cheesecake up there do otherwise? What could he do?
