You can't do pinnacle station after leaving for ilos, because at that point, you are forced to finish the game. If you aren't at that point, then you can take full advantage of pinnacle station.
As to its value, meh, I bought it because I love everything mass effect. It doesn't add really much to the story or understand of the ME universe, especially not like BDtS did/does. But the reward is kinda cool (attempting to not spoil it for you). And it isn't very expensive, and it did add an extra hour or few. *shrug*

I honestly thought it was terrible and pointless. If it was free, I would have a better opinion of it.

I second this. Return to Ostagar reminded me of it. Having said that though...it was more Mass Effect, however weak.

Getting the apartment on Intai'sei is totally worth it for me. It's better to finish Pinnacle Station as soon as you can, and then start saving up to buy gear from the personal computer. You can have X-level weapons and mods by level 20. It's expensive but totally worth it.

I say why not, its only 5 bucks. At the very least, it gives you access to some of the best gear in the game.

Got a ton of criticism, but I thought it was okay..some hard things, I thought hunt and time trial were a bit difficult on high difficulties. But yeah the apartment is awesome, there is a krogan in there so thats cool...not terrible. Only five dollars and 150 GS, too. I'd say worth it...but arguably.

It was kinda fun, but it focused too much on the weaker aspects of the original game.

Only reason i bought it was because i needed it for completing all achievements. I found it to be tedious, easy, and just overall a bad and repetative experience.
Though it should be noted that Bioware is not responsible for this travesty, some other company was put in charge. (luckily bioware is doing all the DLC for ME2

I bought it, it's alright.. I don't think it was worth the amount we had to pay for it but it still adds some more gameplay to delve into for an hour.. The Dialog was extremely repetitive while doing the simulation, that admiral dude keeps shouting the same **** over and over..

Dont expect much. Its the "pinnacle" of holding you finger on the trigger for two hours. But for the price you cant complain.
The end result is you have an easier way to achieve higher level equipment and armour which is ridiculously hard to find sometimes.

I hated the conversations in Pinnacle Station. Every option made Shepard sound like a colossal douche. <_<

I thought it was ok. It's great for squeezing out xp when you've done everything else and aren't 60 yet and Survival Mode is perfect for grinding out skill achievements. Plus the final quest reward is pretty cool as far as quest rewards go.
Your success will most likely be determined on what difficulty you play on. It's next to impossible on Insanity and laughably easy on Casual.

Get it,I leveled up at least twice there, and it's great if you need achievemnets, not to bad to play, and if you beat it,the bonus isn't to bad.

I have not played it, so my opinion is trash, but whatever... I heard so many negative reviews of it that I decided to stay away. My understanding is that it's basically a combat-oriented DLC, which, much as I loved ME1 and am anxious about the "improvements" to the RPG system in ME2, I will agree the combat in ME1 was probably the weakest part of the game. I still thought it was good, but it was the weakest. If you enjoyed the combat in ME1 and aren't looking for an interesting story or sidequest, it's probably fine. Otherwise... the reviews basically said stay away.
