Justinia.
Do you think you will like the character Vivienne?
I like what I know about her so far, so I can't see why not.

Alright then.
Alright then.

Curiosity, People are voicing their opinions of the Character's viewpoints, ideologies and possible beliefs but not much was said about the lady herself.
If she were denying it to herself, she wouldn't survive the Grand Game, i don't see how's truth is insulting to her.

oh lol. I thought you were initiating something at first.

It's poetry in motion. When she turned her eyes to me...
I don't think Vivienne will care. She's not pro-Chantry, she's just pro-Vivienne.
For all we know, she IS a blood mage.
Why?
Do you miss our conversations?
Of course

IF she is though, I'll probably like her even more. But even then, I wouldn't see her being okay with Blood Magic. Even power hungry people have hypocritical moral compasses.

Or the sense of self-preservation.
Vivienne will more than likely be conflicted about it. She'll likely despise it as a First Enchanter/Circle Mage, naturally. Knowing her Machiavellian tendencies, she will tolerate the Inquisitor's usage so long as it ultimately supports her own ends.
By virtue of the information that we have on her, it is safest to say that it can go either way and that we do not know.
who knows it may require the player to convice her that you are using it for good and not evil, (as long as you haven't used blood magic in a evil torchious way which I hope the NPC's can call you on)
Vivienne is power hungry. It's calling her power hungry.
Vivienne is power hungry.
And that's a complement. ![]()
And that's a complement.
It would stick out, if she was a selfless riot for the cause, given her position.

Because we already have a lot of selfish politically influential mages right?

You'd wish. Even Orsino was a spineless worm.
You'd wish. Even Orsino was a spineless worm.
Exactly.
If she turns out to be a blood mage, there won't be enough facepalm pics on the internet to express the disappointment I will have in bioware.
I kind of thought her intro description made it clear that Vivienne was more about keeping ahead than keeping with an ideological structure. All the cues made it seem like she was into the game and what most benefited her at the time, not into the Chantry as a belief system and maintaining it's power. I don't really understand where the idea comes from that she has strong faith or is specifically supportive of the Chantry/Circle for moral purposes. I think she's supportive of it because she's comfortable under it and the opposition isn't offering anything more comfortable than being the court mage.
I believe someone said that becoming a blood mage will entail some gruesome events, it won't be done simply by clicking a button. i think companion's approval will depend on those events more than whether inquisitor is a blood mage or not. it might (should) change relations with neutral party members (Varric). unless we'll have Desire Demon in Fade w/o any witnesses again.
and Vivienne seems like person who doesn't care about the means. she's a politician, not an andrastian ;D
I'm not really sure how Vivienne will react to an Inquisitor blood mage.
On the one hand she does seem to be a 'ends justify the means' kind of person, but on the other, can you imagine the scandal in Orlais of the Empress's personal advisor associating with a blood mage?
