I know where your getting at, but I always 'press the magic button' to resolve the quarian-geth conflict in ME3, and I'd never choose anything else. Do you think that option shouldn't be there?

Possibly. But what I also want to steer clear of is a one size fits all approach to "choices with consequences", more than anything else.

If every situation I ever come across is going to be a moral conundrum, I'm going to get bored. If every situation I ever come across is going to have a magic button, I'm going to get bored. If every RPG is required to have the protagonist at least have the option of surviving, I'm going to get bored. The choices should suit the situation.

The key is providing situations that don't feel forced, either in providing a way out (such as Redcliffe) or in forcing darkness (ME3's endings). Regarding the Geth-Quarian conflict, my issue is more that I'm getting bored of Shepard solving most everything through the power of speech, but that's personal preference.

At best, I can describe why a particular situation does or does not resonate with me.

I'll have to disagree on that one.

So, unlike others who expressed such here I don't particularly care about the "magic button's" presence if there is sufficient context to support other options on offer. Yet, if the developers were to include another Virmire-type situation, I would not mind that too much either, as the situation is actually plausible and its immediate results quite clear, as opposed ME3's end.

I can understand that. To be clear, I don't think ME3's ending template is any sort of model to follow.

But I'm also hesitant to chastise Bioware simply for making the player experience negative emotions. Even an interactive experience that emphasizes "player choice" ends up hitting that wall at times, though ME3 took that a bit too far. As you say, a lot of it depends on context.

Well since X1 and ps4 are closer to pc then previous consoles, prehaps there are possibilities here.

And i don't just mean for the Mehem mod.

There are also great armor and hair mods out there.

Developers are more likey to port pc versions to the console instead of the other way around like it was done with X360 and PS3 in the past.

Maybe workshop like steam has, but then it should be asked to MS and Sony to make this available (unlikely since both are controle freaks).

Or more realistic would be that the developers choose the best mods every 6 months, year... whatever.

And make them availble for console as dlc or rather free-lc.
