I know where your getting at, but I always 'press the magic button' to resolve the quarian-geth conflict in ME3, and I'd never choose anything else. Do you think that option shouldn't be there?
Possibly. But what I also want to steer clear of is a one size fits all approach to "choices with consequences", more than anything else.
If every situation I ever come across is going to be a moral conundrum, I'm going to get bored. If every situation I ever come across is going to have a magic button, I'm going to get bored. If every RPG is required to have the protagonist at least have the option of surviving, I'm going to get bored. The choices should suit the situation.
The key is providing situations that don't feel forced, either in providing a way out (such as Redcliffe) or in forcing darkness (ME3's endings). Regarding the Geth-Quarian conflict, my issue is more that I'm getting bored of Shepard solving most everything through the power of speech, but that's personal preference.
At best, I can describe why a particular situation does or does not resonate with me.
