i just finished beating Mass Effect, I didn't do many of the side missions. Can I go back and play the game after I already beat it, keeping my same character, and without having to start over the main story? if i can how do i do it? I beat the game, then went to Resume in the main menu, and it took me back to the final fight. Cant i just start with all my main storyline missions complete so I can just do all the side missions? I dont want to replay the whole game since it took me a while to beat, i dont get as much time to play that I used to.
going back for side missions?

Nope, you can use your character but you have to do the main plot all over again.
