Unless they give me a Quinari female LIs, nothing would surprise me at this point lol I like those we have so far though. Even if they just stop revealing companion info right now and let us find out the rest in game, I'd be totally fine :))

A dwarf LI would surprise me to be honest.  There have been several BW games that have had dwarves in them and not one of them has been available as a LI.  I'd be less surprised to see a lady Qunari LI.

I don't think I care much about the class and while a non human female would be preferred (qunari, dwarf or elf in order of preference)

In terms of personality for a female companion I'd like to see someone without the tragic back story, who's had the normal ups and downs rather than extremes, someone who's smart, sometimes funny, sometimes serious, sometimes sad, sometimes happy. She's not a naive girl nor a sexpot just a woman who's comfortable with herself as she is. Someone who can enjoy time with friends but still be independent and take care of herself. Somebody honest and trustworthy who'll still tell you you're acting like an idiot when you need to hear it. The kind of person who makes a really great friend and actually has your back no strings attached.

I guess what I really want to see is not so much a personality stereotype and more along the lines of a real person with more complexity than the typical typecasting allows and failing that a 'normal person' type since we don't seem to see that very often.

Yeah I know, I don't want much do I? :D

Another female companion got revealed today. Azrine - a qunari asassin of sorts. That PS4 interview had a pic of her too. Looked pretty good. Strange tattoos, though.

A female elf would be alright. A female dwarf would be better. A female, Kal-Sharok dwarf would be even better.

I hope there's at most 1 elf in the companions.
I don't like their designs, and most of elf companions so far (Fenris, Merril) were weird.
Plus, Solas looks lame too.

Tough break pal, but there are probably two. Sera is an elf and she's all but confirmed.

Nope, there is two.  Sera is looking like she's going to be confirmed and we've got Solas.

Fenris and Merril were from DA2, which admittedly had the elves extremely stylized.  That, however, has changed.  Have you seen the models for the Elf Inquisitor?  It looks much less creepy after tweaking the design.  They don't look as much like humans with pointy ears as they did in Origins, but much less stylized and "alien" than DA2.

We haven't gotten Solas' character kit yet.  Every picture of him is at least a little blurred and has less detail, so it makes it harder to see.  Might want to see his character kit before saying he "looks lame" first.  Shoot, might want to get a better picture of him first.  We saw Vivienne, Cass and Varric more clearly at PAX then we have seen anything of Solas.   It's early in the spring yet; autumn is many months away.   ;)

Briefly on topic: May I stress again how much I'd love another female dwarf around?  My Lady Cadash could use the dwarven girly company on occasion and I think Vivienne (for my first Inquisitor) is going to drive my PC up the wall.

I have as much evidence that I'm the next female companion as I do for a female dwarf or qunari, but I really do hope it's one of them.

That being said, I've spent so much time trying to figure out who the next lady companion will be after Sera that I've come to the conclusion there is no way we'll know until we have more information. They could be anyone.

Lady dwarves get almost no love in the fantasy genre.  I think it probably harkens back to Tolkein, who described them as bearded and completely left them out of the narrative.

Bioware at least had Sigrun, who was pretty awesome and, from what I've seen on BSN, pretty popular too.  But they don't have a great track record beyond her.  In all of the DA games, expansions, DLC, etc. there have been almost 50 companions (including temporary companions).  Of those, there have been 8 dwarves (Oghren and Varric [main games]; Sigrun [expansion]; Gorim and Leske [origins]; and Jerrick, Broggan, and Tug[ [DLCs]).  Of those, only Sigrun was a female.  Plus, in BG and BG2, there were about 30 companions and zero female dwarves.

I think it's high time to see a lady dwarf in the main game.  She needs to be fully fleshed out as a character (which she will be, if she's in a Bioware game) and it would be amazing if she was an LI too, but let's focus on just getting her in the game first!

I personally love the idea of a strong dwarf lady character.
