how many first playthrough paragons are here? i think im gonna have to be  to balance things out and stir things up with all the renegades this time around. you?

I generally go paragon (80-90% perhaps). But I like to keep it fresh with some renegade, because sometimes, people just need a beating.

I was 100% paragon, 30% renegade.

Me, female Earthborn / War Hero paragon Inflitrator / Commando spec, I could NEVER go renegade in the first one, never was able to bring myself to play a Renegade. However, I plan on renegade for Mass Effect 2 using the default canon MaleShep which will carry through for me until Mass Effect 3 as my FemShep will go through Mass Effect 1-3.

Glad you added "first playthrough"!    Actually, I think my first was kind of right down the middle.  She was a Ruthless soldier, and I decided to emphasize "ruthless" rather than "renegade".  She did what it took to get the job done, no risks, but she wasn't a b****, racist, or unnecessarily mean.  She'd bust your butt if she had too (she snapped at Alenko and Joker for chatter at the beginning) but also took care of her folks.

I'll do first playthrough paragon, but I think I will enjoy my renegade playthrough much more. The state of the galaxy at the end of ME was much more interesting, however, the renegade choices aren't the choices I would personally make.

I'll probably test the waters with my pure Paragon this time around, if only because she's the one playthrough I won't mind screwing up as I get used to the new mechanics, and then I'll slowly allow for more Paragade playthroughs. I still need to make a pure Renegade, though the Engineer I have in the works on ME1 might fit the bill.

I am 0% renegade 100% paragon. I try to have my Shepherd as logical as possible although he never breaks the rules.

lol yup, it's a great way to go I think, a classic story of redemption from petty criminal and gang member scrapping by to a legend and savior of the galaxy

First playthrough 100% Paragon.
Second playthrough 100% Renegade (man that was amusing).
Third, fourth, fifth etc. playthroughs, whatever I choose at the time. I find that when I answer what I would actually say in that situation, I tend to lean more towards the Paragon side of things.

EDIT: P.S. I'm an Earthborn Sole Survivor on my main Shep.

Me too, at least to the best of my ability. It manifested itself as mostly Paragon, but Renegade towards criminals or the willfully obnoxious (Ethan Jeong got shot in the face).

I'm just like you, in Mass Effect 1 Renegade seemed liked a low intelligence, "shoot you, you anger my balls" a-hole.

i was a paragon once...but after a pure renegade and paragon

the rest are mixed.

Paragon, but I tended to do a lot of stupid things in my first play through that gave me renegade points. Same is most likely going to happen in ME 2

Although I had Earthborn with Ruthless background, I looked at it as a story of a man who did things his way to realizing he cant be ruthless and expect humans and the galaxy for that matter to live while being so ruthless.
