Yeah, there's a thread floating around GameFAQs on the subject. Supposedly, a level 60 character with the "Rich" achievement from ME1 gets you:
Start at Level 5
8 Squad points
Paragon filled 10%
Credits: 150k
Palladium: 10k
Iridium: 10k
Platinum: 10k
Element Zero: 10k
But we'll see when more people get their hands on the game.

Its been said that you will get a bonus for being lvl 40, 50, or 60 my question is what kind of bonuses will we be looking at? I have a soldier that is lvl 58 and dont really want to start a new game to get him up to 60. Although i probably will just cuz i need to do the Valuable minerals Collection mission.
Yeah it is very important that you complete "UNC: Valuable Minerals" because the devs had said that tthe minerals that you surveyed in ME1 will increace the amount of minerals you have access to in ME2 for the research and development part of the game, the more minerals you survey in ME1 the more minerals you get in ME2.
Also I dont know how true this is but it has been said that if you diddnt complete the "UNC: Valuable Minerals" in ME1 you may not be able to research everything on ME2.

I hope not.
Games where you start new at level 9000 are lame. One of the only things I hated about FF7.

This is not true, Casey said in the Best Buy Q&A that the mineral quest does NOT carry. The only benefit to completeing is that you get exp and money towards being lvl 60 and the Rich achievement.

"Since the resources, money, weapons etc don't directly map over to ME1, you don't have to worry about not getting every mineral (or scanning every keeper!). But you do get bonuses for having lots of money, a high level character, and other major accomplishments. Overall, the main tie-in between the games is that the universe continues the way you left it."- Casey

You don't have to get every mineral. Just finish the quest. OXM review confirmed there is a mineral bonus for completing the quest.

Yeah your right I just posted that to see if anyone would take the bait, it would be kinda funny though if it was true though.

OXM review and developers at CES said the mineral quest carries over. All Casey said was you don't have to worry about getting EVERY mineral. This is because there are more minerals in the game than necessary to complete the quest.
