What kind of class would be like an ODST? soldier because their good with all weapons or infiltrator because of their covert and stealth skills like ODST? what kind of moral choices would a ODST make too, bad, good or a mix of both?

Really depends on the ODST. Probably nothing biotic, but there were some characters that seemed straight up soldiers, others that were more infiltrator, and Micky definitely seemed like an engineer. I really think it would be hard to generalize special operations personnel into such a narrow profile though, they are all supposed to be specialized in at least a couple of different and vital things. As for moral choices... all over the place, impossible to tell based on such a broad group of people.

I understand what you are trying to do, but this is not Halo.
RP'ing like it is Halo or Halo-like would be let down, I think.

Soldier.

Soldier is meant for FPS gamers, play as a Soldier if you want to play the game like a shooter.

Isnt halo reach supposed to be abit more rpg like? couldnt you just go away and wait for that isntead of trying to force this game into your idea of a halo rpg?

Bunjie doesn't care about their IP. Bioware cares about all of theirs. All hail Bioware!

OT but:

Halo 1- I liked it! Not a shooter fan, but it was good.

Halo 2 - Meh. Improved presentation but..meh.

Halo 3 - I really enjoyed it. They ended off ok.

Haha, I'm biased, but likely not as much as OP.

What's with all these people called "ODST X?"

I swear I think I've seen around 3 people with the screenname ODST followed by a number.

Well if I'm not mistaken (not a big Halo fan so I might be) ODST stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper.  Now the ST would seem to lean towards the Soldier and the OD would seem to disqualify any attempt at stealth.  Honestly if you're dropped, from orbit, you are going to hit the ground surrounded by any enemy capable of using a telescope.  It's a lot like trying to sneak up on someone while banging on a bass drum.  So my money would be on the Soldier being the closest.

Thats not true!

With the new rules, the Soldier isa what the OP looking for!

You have all the weapon skills, your forced to use certain weapons at certain times (game decides, not that player) and from all reports you just follow a linear path to the end in each combat!

Soldier class is what hes looking for, stright up shooter experience with little to no choices or variation (everyone (all soldiers) exactly the same). Sure ME2 game will be more wordy and that will keep the die hard shooter players away but the casual Halo player looking for the Halo experience, its definately the soldier class they want!

Wow, so much condescension and partonizing in this topic. RPG fans really think they are a breed above don't they? I mean I am as hardcore a CRPG fan as anyone here, but that still does not stop me from enjoying and appreciating the merits of shooters like Halo, even though PC did it first. Come on people, there is a place for deep experiences, and there is a place for fast action lighthearted ones. To love one over the other does not make one an idiot, so stop acting like it.

To the question at hand, definately Soldier. ODST were NOT particulary subtle, and really were all about using the appropriate gun at the appropriate time. Propably Renegade too, as they seemed in general to be kind of the loose cannons of the Military. Soldier fits Shep best storywise as well, if ME2 is anything like ME1.

PS. where did you hear that you are forced to use certain weapons are certain times? classes can't even equip weapons they are not trained with, and we've already seen a video where shep had different weapons according to his class.

I think more of the reason for making fun of the guy is that this is his second post on the exact same topic within like 3 hours within each other.  It's why I poked fun of him, cause I answered seriously in the first post but then it just seems iditoic to make a second topic in such short time on the exact same topic.

I'd say either the soldier or infiltrator. The ODSTs are the 2nd best shock-troops that the humans in the Halo games have. So...maybe even a Vanguard? hits hard, and really fast.
