Ok, the CE says that it comes with the game sundtrack, but thats a lie, it only comes with 18 of 35 songs, so why telling us it comes with it, when you are making us to pay for it on itunes or amazon??<_<

Hmm, well I just took a look at my CE box. It says "Exclusive game soundtrack".

At the time DA:O was released back in November, the game soundtrack wasn't even out. Therefore, the CE isn't lying exactly.

And yes part of the the soundtrack is on the CE Bonus DVD.

Wow... I didn't even notice. That is really really really cheap. I gotta say, when everyone was pissed EA was gonna be backing this game, I thought "pfffhhhh, they can't be THAT bad!" I was wrong. They've pulled one cheap trick after another.

EVERY CE I've gotten that comes with a soundtrack (as many CE's tend to) I've gotten the full soundtrack. Giving us half the soundtrack and making us BUY the full soundtrack is f*in BS. If you buy just the songs not included in the CE it's more expensive then buying the WHOLE cd. So pretty much your f*ed if you want the full soundtrack. You gotta rebuy it. Hell the soundtrack was one of the main reasons I got the CE.

Damn you EA. DAMN YOU!

Soundtrack doesn't always mean every song in the game. Several movie soundtracks exclude pieces from the film - and no I'm not referring to movie's filled with pop songs.

Oh geez, now I'm being an apologist. What I mean to say is, Bioware screwed you guys over. This is unacceptable.

Ya that was my thought at first... then I realised the loyal fans who bought the CE (which advertised the soundtrack) got less the half of what turned out to be the TRUE soundtrack...

Meh. I would have liked to have some of the battle music :(

That final track is pretty spiffy though.

Who cares the music sucks. I mean it fits the game well and is interesting in-game, but who would want to listen to it by itself.

Jeez some people will whine about everything and some people will defend anything... all I know is I got the CE because it advertised the soundtrack, but it's really only a sample and I gotta pay for songs I already have if I want the actual soundtrack.

I also no that all ten or so soundtracks I've gotten from CE's have always contrained the same amount of music as a later released soundtrack or more...

So I feel screwed over, cause you know the only reason (or at least most likley) they didn't give us the full soundtrack with the CE was cause they wanted more cash.

In my long history of gaming I've always been against this big company conspiracy theories, but I am really starting to hate EA here.

you are aware that some of the songs that came with the CE aren't available on the larger album, right? there aren't any lies involved, it is just miscomprehension.

You probably have more than 60,000 words written on these boards. Bioawre is thusly stealing your ability to write a novel and selling it for profit, completely wasting it on bashing trolls and idjits.

Think of the profiteering!

I have to reiterate this. The Collector's Edition didn't lie. You were promised an "exclusive soundtrack," and you were given "exclusive" tracks with your purchase. Moreover, the actual soundtrack was released at a later date; it's unfair for you to now get up-in-arms about this considering the nature of the release(s).

Furthermore, in my experience, complaining on the forums seldom garners the results for which you set out. In fact, all you really garner is the spurn of many forum members. If you have a plight or an issue you feel needs addressing, I'd encourage you to take it up with Customer Support. It's shocking, I know, but that's what Customer Support is there for.

It's called "venting". It's not meant so much for the audience as it is for the venter to "get something off his chest." If the only thing it accomplishes is to lower the venter's blood pressure and reduce the likelihood of ulcers, from the _venter's_ perspective, it's worth it.

I defend the company too whenever I feel it is necessary, but this case warrants a closer look. If the CE said "exclusive game soundtrack., " then it's not exactly "miscomprehension" because they deliberately used typical vague marketing language that is open to all sorts of interpretation.

I believe they deliberately made it the  way it is to encourage people to buy both items. They could have  made it so that the CE only featured  a few exclusive songs that won't be found anywhere else,  but as it is now, if people want both,  they will end up buying some songs twice.

Suppose a movie has a theatrical release DVD where they say "contains exclusive director interview." However, a few months later an "extended edition box set"  comes out which feature both the theatrical release and the extended version,  as well as a similar, but longer director interview.

I know this is NOT a perfect analogy, but it does illustrate how the company would use the lack of knowledge to get people to buy the theatrical release twice. It's not completely the customer's fault for "miscomprehending".

While customers can "take it or leave it", it would be naive to think
that a company wouldn't employ tactics to encourage more people to
"take it." Using, vague marketing language is pretty much par for the
course, so you can't put all the blame on the customer for
"miscomprehending."

I would blame the customer for not going the extra mile to look beyond
what it says on the box to see what they're really getting into, but
companies know that impulse buying works in their favor, so they do
whatever they can to actively encourage impulse buying.
