So if the giant whine abut this thread is that the CE didn't come with every song in the game, why is nobody whining that the 35 song soundtrack also does not contain every song in the game? Or that both soundtracks together STILL don't have every song in the game?

In fact, very few movies or games ever release complete soudtracks, either due to CD size, aesthetic choice, or legal issues.

So really what the complaint here is that some people read 'soundtrack' and then -assumed- that every song from the game would be present. It doesn't say "complete soundtrack" or in any other way imply that the CE comes with every song.

Where exactly does the CE "tell lies" as the thread title suggests?

Read my post about two threads up, u must of missed it cause it pretty much touches on everything you just mentioned. I'll sum it up for you though, cause it is long winded, I am just repeating though... so if you want a longer explination just read the above.

1. We're not dumb, we know soundtracks don't include ALL the music of the game (save for rare examples), and we don't expect that.

2. Despite the title of the thread, I don't think we were lied to as much as blatently tricked.

3. You say "So really what the complaint here is that some people read 'soundtrack'
and then -assumed- that every song from the game would be present. It
doesn't say "complete soundtrack" or in any other way imply that the CE
comes with every song."

No one assumes that, well, at least not most of us. When we say THE soundtrack we mean soundtrack in the CD sense. Like a movie soundtrack.

4. One of the main reasons I tend to get collector's editions is
because they often come with soundtracks. I have not once had anything
like this happen. If I want the full soundtrack I have to in a sense,
rebuy what I already own.KK that sums it up.

NOW this in it's self isn't enough to ****** me off, but this ontop of a bunch of sleazy marketing moves has pissed me off.

Let me leave ya with one example, The Witcher. I good few months (maybe even a year) after release they created a mega patch that must of cost them ALLOT of $$$ and allot of work. This patch was applyed to the product and sold in a special edition, this special edition came with a bunch of goodies like soundtrack, map, ect. BUT the devs didn't want to screw over the fans who had already bought there game, so they provided those who already own the game with EVERYTHING. Hell we even got two HUGE soundtracks for free. One composed of music from the game and another composed of tribute music.

Yet, those loyalists who bought the DA:O CE don't even get the real soundtrack... now compare how much money bioware and EA has compared to the little dev team that made the witcher. One did it's best to please the fans and the other did it's best to suck money out of them. Like I said before, pre-dragon age I had no beef with EA. I didn't see what the fuss was about, but now I loathe them.

Wishpig, YOU may not have jumped to conclusions, but the OP certainly has. In fact, pretty much everything he says is a wrong. When the first post in a thread s full of bullcrap I have time sympathizing with the poster.

"Ok, the CE says that it comes with the game sundtrack, but thats a lie, it only comes with 18 of 35 songs, so why telling us it comes with it, when you are making us to pay for it on itunes or amazon??"

1) Not a lie.

2) It comes with 18 songs as opposed to a different disk with 35 songs, some of which overlap, not "18 of 35 songs"

3) Nobody is making anybody pay for anything on itunes or amazon.

Ya, true enough.

My big beef with this whole thing is that EA seems to be making a price push in pretty much everyday. Trying to cut corners here, charge a little more there, and subtlety (failing) playing the consumer. I just get this feeling their trying to see how much they can get away with.

I have never once felt this way about a big gaming company in my 15+ years of gaming. Hell, I've defended EA, up till Dragon Age... even then I defended them at first.

Ya it's all about the money, and yes the majority of gaming companies use cheap tactics, but EA has taken it to the point where it is sickeningly obvious.

Like, if instead of taxing you, the government came over to your house, kicked you in the nuts, and then took your wallet. Ok. Maybe not like that, but still... it's a funny image.
