No. Dunno why but something just seems way too self-importantly dramatic about declarations like this.

Definitely not.

I like RPGs. Bioware does great RPGs. I've only ever been annoyed with ME3's ending, but mistakes/annoyances like that are to be expected from time to time; I doubt there's a developer out there with such a long history of game-making who's never made a mistake. I understood DA2 was rushed but that wasn't Bioware's fault; it was EA's. And now for DAI, EA's actually stepped back for once so I'm looking forward to a great game from a developer I still generally trust. I'll pre-order if I can save up enough (poor student here), and I might even get the Collector's edition I didn't get for ME3, seeing as I love the DA franchise just a bit more. As long as they keep making IPs with a strong focus on the RPG side, I'll remain a loyal customer, even if I don't always buy the games as soon as they come out.

I don't see a reason to pre-order games unless the pre-order bonuses are really awesome. I've never had any problem with stores selling out for extended periods before, so what else would the point be? I don't know, I don't really get the need.

Well, here's one reason to pre-order. Some places, like EB Games/GameStop let you put minimal money down on pre-orders. For those months where more than one game I wanted is releasing, always made it easier for me to pay half on each one month, and the month of release pay the rest. That way, I'm only paying the price of 1 new game, versus 2 new games at once, or more depending on how many games I'm getting (as prices here in Canada have raised, this is a good thing). The prices here don't drop all that significantly either to merit waiting long enough to buy used. I only buy used if it's a game that I wouldn't mind waiting for as it wasn't at the top of my list for wanting immediately.

@OP Personally, I've not really been disappointed by BioWare, so they'll still be getting my moolah. There are other companies I can think of that have annoyed me far worse than this company.

I agree with the Op. Since DAO I feel things have changed for the worse at BW. I honestly only come here hoping that they will get back on form for old times sake. I hated playing the same environments 100 times in DA2........Not even talking about ME3.

My dream is EA folds and BW does some kind of buy back and gets away from quick $ games at the expense of quality. Not unknown as many folk are getting peeved with EA of late. IF only :)

BioWare has my faith, they have a fine track record acknowledging a few lesser moments, but good overall.

I've enjoyed over 800 hours in ME3 much in the wonderful multiplayer.

Memories are short and game studios are as good as their last game, which is why some of the cynicism still hangs in the air, probably unfairly.

I will be pre-ordering DAI and from what I read I'm seeing the right signals and teases about DAI - I trust.

ME3 ending was a total disappointment for me, so I will not preorder the next Mass Effect game.

I didn't mind DA2.  It had alot of flaws, but I still enjoyed the game.  So, I will preorder DAI.

Bioware games have given me hundreds and hundreds of hours of enjoyment, so $60 is a trivial amount when I average it out.  I pay ~$5/hr to enjoy a movie in theaters, if I super low ball it I paid ~$.50/hr for DA2 (which I liked less than DA:O, duh, it had plenty of flaws).

What I've seen from DA:I so far has more than convinced me the issues I had with DA2 are being addressed so I'll preorder a copy on PC and PS4 (that way my husband and I won't fight over who gets to play first).  Unless the game literally explodes into pieces when I open the box, I'm confident I'll get enough hours of enjoyable playtime to justify my investment.

Now that I have kids I'm super stingy with my gaming dollars but DA:I is moving in the right direction and I trust that it'll turn out ok, so take my money!

Why would it be? I haven't lost faith in Bioware. I can't think of anything that would make me not buy their product. I plan on preordering DAI. From what I've seen and heard to this point, I know I will be doing a lot of playthroughs.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed ME3 (moreso than ME2, actually) and DA2, despite the flaws. SW:TOR is from another studio entirely, so it's not fair to judge Bioware as a whole on that. Insert "an MMO will always suck compared to a real/SP game" rant here, as well.

Also, as someone without a modern PC or next-gen console, the pickings for RPGs are pretty damned slim.

I will be preordering DA:I. The ME3 ending has no relevance to my view of the DA franchise and I enjoyed both DA2 and DA:O for different reasons. I like RPGs that include customization and put an emphasize on characters and story the best so I am likely to enjoy DA:I even if it is remarkable shitty (though I highly doubt it will be).

Plus it is easier for me to handle buying games if I preorder as I can spread out the period that I pay for it, so I tend to preorder all games that I know for certain I will be playing.

I prefer to judge games individually and based on what I have seen things do look impressive.

I also value my own opinion more than what I read as everyone has different tastes in what they like in a game.  Plus people who enjoy something but aren't heavily invested in the developer or just play and move on don't tend to post online as much as people who dislike something so the online perception of a game or topic should be taken with a grain of salt.

Its funny the closer DA:I comes the more people who said they will never preorder another Bioware game again, are preordering, and honestly they are just going to end up singing the same song the sung after DA2 and ME3 came out, doesn't materr if its the best game ever we are still going to hear that song.

As far as I'm concerned when it comes to the dragon age series, I loved DA2 (not as much as origins though) but It was a game I totality had fun playing and enjoyed,so I'd definitely pre-order Inquisition, since I have enjoyed the series and got quite attached to the setting and characters. Besides, It looks very impressive so far so why not...

I may be in an exclusive club...But I've loved everything about Bioware's games beginning with Buldar's Gate 1 & 2, Knights of the Old Republic 1 &2, Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2 and the entire ME trilogy (including the original ending; though I'm pleased they added more 'closure' with the DLC, if they hadn't I still would have loved it).  Bioware has not let me down one bit.

The now-defunct Lucas Entertainment Company (better known for Lucas Arts) on the other hand was an abismal disappointment for me in everything after Star Wars Jedi Academy (the sequel to one of my favourite games of all time, Jedi Outcast, though I have to admit as much as I loved that game, the ending for me was....underwhelming to say the least. Though even that did not detract from my love for that game and I played it exclusively for many years until I couldn't anymore.

For many many years since Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis, the desktop graphic adventure, then Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Outcast I had always faithfully been a huge fan of Lucas Arts.  But for me, Jedi Outcast released in 2002 was the last good game that that company made for many years....Until The Force Unleashed.  The first one was really good, the second one was a pretty big let down and after completing it only once, I have never had the desire to replay it at all.  The combat and gameplay were enjoyable, but for me it was the story that was rather pointless and could have been developed so much more than it was.

Then I tried Bioshock and for the week, I thoroughly enjoyed that game.  Then I got to the point where I hated it and it left a very bad taste in my mouth.  So, then I returned my attention to Bioware and have not been even remotely disappointed at all with any game they have released to date.  I whole heartedly intend on pre-ordering the CE of Inquisition; I would love an art book and a strategy guide as well.

Despite DA 2 initially being a disappointment i wasnt arrogant about it and still had a lot of fun with it. It was through that game that i found my favorite character of the series (The Arishok). Even though i judge games based on their previous installment i think only a blind gamer would deny that DA:I hasnt shown not only potential but also clearly shows that they're fixing DA2's wrongs so bringing it up to support the claim that this game will be bad is just a case of ignorance

Dragon Age:I looks to be a great game. I don`t have any worries about it.

The Mass Effect series, however, is currently in the barn with Sophia.

Trouble is it is not just their last game is it. SWTOR, DA2 ME3. This is a pattern of cutting corners and half formed games IMO. It is also the only way you can judge, a games companies performance, based on its recent games. No one can rate them in advance of their next game .

I will wait and see, as pre orders for this games is not worth my taking a chance on. Fool me once shame on you BW, fool me several times into thinking a game was as good as you claimed. NO way. I will get well after launch, as trust is not easily won back when a company continually lets you down.

Not saying I will not buy eventually . But it will be preowned and BW will get no profit........Simply because I can not trust their empty promises any more.

What about you folks? Still trust Bioware enough to pre-order or will you be putting on your sceptic hat and hold your money until you're satisfied with enough information to justify a purchase?

Considering there has yet to be a Bioware game I have not absolutely loved playing, yes I am definitely pre-ordering Inquisition.

I'd be pretty disappointed if I had to put Inquisition in the same category as DA II, TOR and ME3. I'm optimistic about it though. It does look like BioWare has taken all the feedback and criticism into account so hopefully Inquisition will be up there with BioWare's earlier games.

I remember a lot of older posts where people stated they would no longer pre-order games from Bioware following the disappointments that were SW:TOR, DA2, and ME 3 (due to the absolutely horrible initial ending (before the patch)).

I'm one of them, Bioware is no longer one of the untouchables for me that I'll trust, but then again neither is any other company if I'm honest with myself. So I won't pre-order Dragon Age: Inquisition, but will instead wait and see what happens. How's the gameplay, how's the length, the replayability, are the dialouges further dumbed down to the point of "click skull if you want to fight" "Click heart for flirt" "click question if you want to ask more"?

If Dragon Age: Inquisition is another failure, then the only games I might buy in the future, will be the ones with a price reduction of 75% or higher.

What about you folks? Still trust Bioware enough to pre-order or will you be putting on your sceptic hat and hold your money until you're satisfied with enough information to justify a purchase?

I happened to enjoy Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2.

However I am in the camp of don't pre-order games period.

This is because the games will get cheaper a couple of years down the line.

i loved all there games. sure there could of been more of this or that in some, but i liked them.  I understand people didn't like  da2 or mass 3 or what ever, what i don't get is why no one shuts up about it. If a bad game chapped you that much that your still so very angry about it, then im a bit dumb founded, because thats a lot of time wasted being angry about something so trivial. If your that invested in a game then maybe you need a game break and see what life has to offer. Thats my opinion.

They don't want the next game to turn out the same way for the reasons they didn't like DA II and ME3. So they keep it up to make sure their feedback isn't missed. It doesn't take much time to comment on a website or forum.

If\when Dragon Age I ends up being a great game, Dragon Age 4 will get feedback and expectations based on that game.

ME3's Ending remains a huge disappointment for me, but DA2 and SWTOR were extremely enjoyable. I'll be pre-ordering this one.
