I thought DAII and ME3 were both terrible but everything they've shown so far about Inquisition looks really promising so I'll pre-order it.
Is Dragon Age: Inquisition going to be a make or break for you?

Although I can understand those that are "done" with Bioware, I am not in the same boat. I will pre-order Dragon Age Inquisition. Even a bad Bioware game is still better than most other games. Despite the multiple problems that Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 had, plenty of people on this forum have replayed the game regardless. That's more gameplay than I usually get out of "better" games.

Perhaps it's just me but I have never been 'done with any developer. I mean Square-Enix produced the massive disaster that was the original Final Fantasy 14, and the lackluster FF 13 series of games. However I have enjoyed their Kingdom Hearts games and am thus interested in Final Fantasy 15. Ubisoft games AC 3 and Far Cry 2 annoyed me for varying reasons, but AC 4 Black Flag and Far Cry 3 were fantastic games. Kojima released MGS 2, that had a disturbingly convuluted story, but went on tomake MGS3 which was actually a very good spy adventure set during the cold war. Now he's released a paid demo (Ground Zeroes) which is ridiculous, but after playing a copy (traded in some shovelware I will NOT b playing again for it) I've decided that if the actual gameplay and story telling is indicative of what's in The Phantom pain, I will likely enjoy that game a lot.
It comes down to one thing: Is the developer making something that interest me?
As long as Bioware does that I will buy their games. The same goes for every other developer in the market.

To be honest, for me Jade Empire was the low point in Bioware's game offerings. Decent story, and as always some characters I like, but in a setting I'm not terribly fond of. But the gameplay was terrible. Still, that didn't prevent me from looking at their later games.
I guess the same is true for every developer that's around for a long time. I'm not required to buy every game, and I don't expect every developer to only cater to me. So, for example, if I don't play Obsidian's South Park game, so what? It's just not for me - but it doesn't prevent me from still enjoying a replay of Alpha Protocol, nor backing and playing Pillars of Eternity day one later this year.
And it's no different with Bioware and DA:I ... DA2 had lot's of flaws, but I liked it well enough, so of course I'm there for the next game, that looks massively improved. And even if DA:I ends up being a turd, well, the next ME game or their new IP are done by different developers.
Besides, I love RPG's - and there are not that many to choose from, so I'm not terribly picky. And if I can find some enjoyment in a janky game like Mars: War Logs, you can be damn well sure I can find some in a Bioware game as well.

I've never pre-ordered any game, ever. I find no logical reason to do so, and that won't change for DAI. I play on a PC and since PC games can't be traded in any more, I like to get a better understanding of what I'm paying for before I put money down for it.

I've always liked Bioware games and I will pre-order if the upcoming game strikes my fancy. I'm definitely in for DAI. I think DA2 had some flaws but I liked it well enough to play through it a few times and it hasn't put me off at all.

Well, if it sucks, it sucks and I wont buy it.
But if it's good, I'll get it. Same with every other game.
I'm sure as hell not pre-ordering it; because pre-ordering is a scam, but BioWare's a company, they don't deserve any loyalty or hatred for making games, good or bad.

Will buy only if multiplayer (not SWTOR style), other than that - never.

Dragon Age: Inquisition looks very promising, but I won't pre-order it. It seems to me that they are taking inspiration from Skyrim (too much?), because it sold very well. Skyrim is extremely shallow, boring, has bad writing, has a terrible story and is generally just not a good game (my opinion). To me it is just a dumbed down open world hack and slash (sorry for ranting, I am just not a Bethesda fan and strongly dislike their games.).
I want a BioWare game. I want a game that feels like the BioWare titles I know and love. I don't want BioWare to jump on the bandwagon and make a bad game by copying Skyrim because it sold so well (it is a complete mystery to me why Skyrim sold so well anyway). I want a a genuine BioWare Dragon Age game, that means great writing, a great story, solid RPG mechanics and an interesting and profound world that is a lot of fun to explore.
That said, normally I would just give BioWare the benefit of the doubt and preorder - If it wasn't for BioWare "EAWare" titles like Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 at least. They were actually not terrible games, they just did not reach the high level of quality that I am used to and love from BioWare titles. Dragon Age 2 had interesting combat, but it was rather shallow and I dearly missed the tactical aspect of combat. Mass Effect 3 did feel somewhat like a Mass Effect title, but it was rather short and had some pretty terrible and completely ridiculous writing.
That is how I feel about Dragon Age: Inquisition, I want something more like Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age. I am excited about the game and trust (hope...) that BioWare will deliver. ![]()

Played plenty missons with Liara having no armour...
Not sure how. I've played ME1 on the PC and Xbox 360 and apart from on the Normandy Liara is always in her armour.
Do you mean ME3? Her clothes in that are like a casual/armour cross.
Or did you use console commands to remove her clothes - not sure if that is possible as I didn't really use them on the PC version

I loved DA:O and DA2, all the ME (those I did hate ME3's ending), and I loved SWTOR.
And everything I've seen of DA:I makes it seem like they've learned from everything that they did wrong with those games (cos even tho I loved them, I do know they all had faults). So I will be preordering the most expensive edition of DA:I the day they announce it.

I agree with you regarding Skyrim. I mean it's not a horrible game but really just... lack-luster? Apparently all the fun comes from various MODS, and to me that reflects extremely poorly on the game itself.
I don't think DAI will be taking all that much "inspiration" from Skyrim. Maybe in terms of just larger areas to explore and better graphics, but I honestly think that'll be it.

It is a truth that is oft forgotten. I occasionally see players complaining about issues they noticed during a second or third playthrough. That fact alone should speak for the replay value and overall quality of Bioware games. Even when you look at their complaints objectively, it has nothing to do with DA2 or ME3 being bad games per se. The only "crime" was that neither of those two games lived up to the standard that Bioware has established in the past.
And I hope you don't mind me cutting in here. Skyrim did a lot of things right, but overall the game suffered from the technical limitations of the last gen consoles. As an Xbox gamer, even I'll admit that the game would have benefitted from being made for PS3 and PC alone. Skyrim had to be neutered to fit on a 360 DVD as opposed to PC installations and PS3's blu ray discs, which can hold much more data. Everything from graphics to framerate suffered as a result.
That being said, Skyrim did exploration in a fantasy setting very well. It's something that I wouldn't mind seeing in Inquisition. Just because Bioware is known for one type of game, doesn't mean they won't excel at changing things up. From what we've seen, this is still a Bioware game.

This is the Dragon Age franchise we're talking about, of course I will pre-order it. I have loved both DA titles, so there is absolutely no reason for me to doubt the 3rd entry will be any less amazing than the other 2. I feel people are overly harsh towards DA2. The devs were given a microscopic amount of time to make that game, and yet they still managed to put out something that was really fun and replayable...at last count, I think I was on my 8th DA2 playthrough. ![]()
The Dragon Age team don't make bad games. They just don't. It is my personal belief that they are not capable of making a crappy game. I wish I could say the same thing about the Mass Effect team, but sadly...I can't. I hope they give us a release date soon, as I am desperate to pre-order my copies of DAI. ![]()

I'm definitely pre-ordering DA:I. I actually liked DA2 more than Origins, and ME3 is my favorite ME game. So, BioWare didn't 'fail' in my eyes with any of their games. What I've seen of Inquisition also hasn't disappointed me at all.

I still think the majority of the people who hated ME3 had developed a long conceived notion and idea in their head of how the trilogy should end after ME 2 ended, and when their personal head canon wasn't met, the outcry began
now granted the ending wasn't the best ending in the world, but its not the worst either

The recycled zones bothered me but I stopped griping about it due to the fact of DA II's forcibly rushed schedule , and also take it in the form of since the story is from Varric's PoV i can't imagine he would go into detail about every cave Hawke went in
other than the recycled zones, I really enjoyed the game

yes it seem that lately BW has issue with endings.
but to be honest BW has yet to produce a game remotely close to the "Da xiang bao zha shi de la du zi" that is aliens: colonial marines.
even DA:2 that I find wanting in quite a few respect was globally Ok,

I won't preorder (because of my disappointment with DA2 and ME3), and a lot rests on Dragon Age Inquisition. I'll remain skeptical and will wait for the community reviews (not the reviews from publications - but rather what my fellow gamers think).

I've pre-ordered The Masked Empire and Last Flight. I will be pre-ordering whatever ultimate collector's edition is announced the day it's available.
I was not satisfied with ME3s ending and had many strongly worded opinions. However, that didn't negate the 27 or so hours that I liked about it.

I have to ask: How is pre-ordering a scam? The money you put down is deducted from the game price. So if you pay $20 to preorder a $60 game, when it comes out you only pay $40 for it.
