Is Dragon Age: Inquisition going to be a make or break for you?

I know everyone has their own opinion, but I find it stunning how many people like Dragon Age 2. It was a decent game, but come on, you weren't bothered by the recycled zones over and over again?

There's a difference between being bothered by something and not liking a game because of that something. I was bothered by the recycled areas, but it didn't prevent me from liking the game. I enjoyed the game for what it and every game out there is: an imperfect game made by imperfect people, but a game none-the-less.

I just recently played BG1&2 again for the first time in years and, while I really enjoyed both of them, there were some aspects in both of them that really bothered me. But I didn't stop liking the games because of those things. I realize that they are what they are and enjoyed the games for what they are.

Somehow not really, becuase it was always set in Kirkwall and it's surroundings, so I didn't expect a lot of evironnements (I preferred to stay in the city itself to be honest).

Now in ME1, seeing the same bunkers/warehouse in every single planet of the galaxy did bother me and take away the exploration feeling.

Context is everything.

(That said I don't care much for either DAO or DA2, played each once, never touched it again, yet despite this I'm all kind of hyped for DAI, because it just looks good in itself).

Not really, no. If the game was about exploration I might have been bothered, but it wasn't.

I didn't really expect to like DA2, or ME2, or ME3.  And I didn't like any of them.

But BioWare's games that I have expected to like, I've liked.  I expect to like DAI.  If DAI fails to meet my expectation, it will be the first BioWare game to do so.

Not bothered enough to not totally love it, even more than Origins. I agree it was a flaw but it wasn't game breaking, not for me. The scope of the game was more intimate, anyway.

I love how they poke fun of the reused environments in Merrill's MOTA banter.

Yes, yes I was, but not to the point that it erased my enjoyment of the game's better qualities.

Origins had recycled zones, too. Quite a bit, and the game was set across a much larger area.

DA2 is set in one city, and a small outside area. So, recycled zones weren't a bother. They made more sense than in DA:O.

Not like it would detract from the amazing things about DA2 even if it did bother me.

I didn't really care that much about it. I mean, when I gave my review I mentioned that and the crappy loot, but Anders. Okay? And Aveline. And Meredith. And Cassandra. And Varric. And Isabela. And Fenris. And Merrill. And Bethany. And Carver. And Leandra. And omg it's Leliana. And ANDERS. Goddamnit Anders. Omg. Gotta do this again. This happened.

I was bothered when I first started playing but then as I got into the game and started to enjoy it and it stopped bothering me. All games have something that bothers me, but if I enjoy the other aspects of the game then I can get used/ignore the things that bother me.

Stuff like ME1s bunker that was on every planet or the limited number of tactics you can give a companion in DA:O all bothered me in the beginning but they got over shadowed by aspects of the game I enjoyed.

I wouldn't swear off Bioware products, I'd just be more skeptical of them. Actually I won't be more skeptical of them because I don't see any way for me to become any more skeptical than I already am. I preordered ME3. That's never happening again.

The recycled areas didn't really bother me much. hell, ME2 is 1 of my favourite games & it's practically just 1 big warehouse all the way through with identical colour coded enemies but it didn't stop my enjoyment of it.

I would wait until if people start complaining on the BSN, or Youtube, or news outlets, or any other place before I decide to boy and enjoy the game.

I'm part of an incredibly niche market, and although for the most part I don't like the direction Bioware is taking, they are still the only ones that will make tactical RPGs like Dragon Age. So if I don't like DA:I I am very likely to whine a lot but Bioware is the only dealer on the block and I need to get my fix.

Look for more JRPG. They've got tons on RPG.
Although not quite the same type as DA or other western style, I enjoyed FE: Awakening way more than DA.
Before I played FE:A, Shin Megami Tensei, Virtue's Last Reward (puzzle) etc, I thought Nintendo only dealt with children& nostalgia games like Mario, Zelda, and pokemon, but I was wrong (those games I mentioned are just published by Nintendo, not developed by them, by the way).
You might start to like other type of games as well.

If you liked Virtues Last Reward, you should take a look at Danganronpa : Trigger Happy Havoc, Its like Virtues Last Reward crossed with Persona crossed with Phoenix Wright

No. I still play SWTOR (not getting into tho). ME3 ending was fixed for me with the E.Cut & DA2 i enjoyed but didnt feel as epic doing chores for townsfolk & i didnt like the fact that anders hit on me as male. But bioware really hasnt let me down where i felt this game is crap. Still preordering it and will buy all story dlc for DAI.

No. I'll be pre-ordering it. Now that they aren't doing companion DLC I have less reason to pre-order the CE, though I probably will anyway because BioWare games end up being worth $80 of my time and usually it comes with a cool case (DA Origins CE case UGH SO GOOD).

ME3's ending has nothing to do with Dragon Age. But even if it did, I see it as an isolated exception rather than the rule. Pre-ending ME3 is one of my top games of all time.

As for the Dragon Age series, it's unlikely that Inquisition will be worse than Dragon Age II, and I really liked DAII despite its flaws, so there you go.

The very concept of judging a game based on its predecessor (or any previous game of a company) and not by its own merits is beyond me.

I would say judging, and being cautiously apprehensive of a recent lack in quality of a once great developer would be a thin line. I'm excited about DAI more than other game this year, but I'm far more open to the idea that Bioware will miss the mark. Bioware doesn't stand for the quality it use to, maybe DAI can begin to redeem the Bioware name.

I buy a game to have fun. I had fun playing DA2 and ME3. In my books that makes them good games at the least. I am also one of the few people I have seen on the internet that had no problem with ME3 being 98% perfect with only an average ending. lets be honest if the rest of the game hadn't been so great a lot of you would never have decided to "hate the abomination that EAWARE wrought"

Bioware's last 3 games, ME3, DA2 and The SWTOR have been awful. I'll wait until there are user reviews of DAI before buying, I've been burned once too often to have any faith left.

People pull this crap with every single game in development. "If it's not good, I'll never buy another one of your games!"

I call BS. It's been BS every time.  <_<  Knock it off with your ****** poor ultimatum crap.

I've never really been disappointed by any of bioware's games. Dragon Age 2 was the most 'meh' I've ever been with them, and while Mass Effect 3 endings irked me quite a bit... the DLC content and EC completely redeemed it for me. And I enjoy SWTOR, but I'm leveling several characters, and not at the end game at all... so I wouldn't know :P I'll probably get bored with it once I run out of character missions to do. And I LOVED Kotor I and II (I know it's by Obsidian, but I added it without thinking!), and Dragon Age: Origins... plus Mass Effect. Bioware hasn't let me down yet, and I doubt they will.

Because not pre-ordering is completely the same thing as not buying.
