Although they did not have enough room on the power wheel for me to use an extra skill when i got to higher levels.

Anyway...back on topic. The sentinel actually looks like a strong class, and an appealing one at that. Tech armor not only seems really effective, but also looks awesome.

Sentinel and Infiltrator were my favorite classes. I think they will continue to be in ME2.
I'm sort of sad my Sentinel won't have a shotgun, though.

Reviews from people at CES who got to see gameplay said that they were impressed with what they saw and that it seemed to be a "safe" class.

I'm sticking with the infiltrator. My favorite in ME1, but was a little underpowered imo. ME2 seems to have fixed that. The overhauled sniper seems much more effective.

Just to correct a terrible misconception: Infiltrators were THE Golden Standard class of ME 1. They had the highest damage potential with their permanent Marksman pistol, had permanent Immunity and innate, quick recharging area of effect damage resistance debuff in Overload.
They were far and away the strongest class in the first game without debate. Those who follow the old Golden Standard set ups and who've done the math and in game plays with the good builds can attest to this in absolution.

They most definitely made a very competitive class. Not that it wasn't in ME 1.

I could argue that my high level Adept/Bastion with permanent singularity, permanent barrier and permanent shield boost was more formidable.

Arguably safer, but in terms of sheer speed through content nothing could compare to an Infiltrator. Permanent Marksman pistol on an Infiltrator outmatches an AR Adept in damage by quite the margin and both become unkillable between Immunity/Electronics and Barrier (specialization)/Stasis/Singularity.
In the end it comes down to kill speed as either can simply run through with impunity with a smart player. The biggest slowdown factor is the Bastions greatest asset: Stasis.
Sure it boosts your survivability (and offense because its easier to hit an immobile target) but you just cut your damage potential in half if not worse.
But we're getting way off track. Lets just say that the only class that truly could be considered "bad" in ME 1 was the Engineer. Each other class had its assets and flaws, but to call the Infiltrator one of the worst (when practice and number crunching indisputably say its the best) simply grinds an underlying nerve.
Can't wait to get my hands on the Sentinel.
