I've got the gist of how the import system will work but I haven't been able to find out what happens using the same character that made different decisions.
For instance, I beat the game with all the decisions I wanted, I started playing through a second time with my same character but made some different decisions (I hooked up with this girl instead of that girl, etc.) the second time. I also didn't beat the game my second play through.
Basically my questions is, will my second play through impact the import system in ME2? I found some better equipment in my second play through but I made decisions I enjoyed more through my first time.
I know this must be a tired question but I couldn't find anything that specifically answered this.

If you don't want to import your second playthough, then upload your first.

You'll be able to choose which playthrough to import; so every set of decisions within one complete playthrough will be able to be carried over into ME2.
Since you didn't beat the game on the second playthrough, however, you won't be able to carry it over, and it won't have any affect on your first.
