If this has already been posted, then I'm sorry, but I've tried to find it throught the "Search" in the forums and it takes me to a list of filters for my search, HOWEVER.... there's nothing to do further than that... It may very well be something wrong with my computer or something, but I can't actually search the forums. ANYWHO!
I've tried to play "Mass Effect", but I have 2 problems... it won't run the configuration utility, so I start it manually from the .exe file, but.it starts up and goes to a black screen... YAY!!! If I press anything it crashes to the desktop and I get this message:
"General protection fault!
History: GMatrix2D::Swap() Address = 0x10bb5676 (filename not found)
[in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mass Effect\\Binaries\\MassEffect.exe]
Address = 0x16c43ee4 (filename not found)"
then there's an "ok" button to click...
So... Anyone have any suggestions?
I'd REALLY like to try playing this game, soon, if at all... So hopefully someone's got some help for me...
THANKS!
Ike
I've tried and tried...

Try the various things in this thread and report back your findings
Edit: Er, well, it is a little different actually. But try game validation/reinstall (depending on if you have difital copy or retail copy), update your drivers, try checkdisk and report back
