Yeh, I thought the file hosting might become a problem. It might be an idea to create an indexed list in excel or something with links to people's samples and upload that.

The file hosting is quite weak currently - I think I'll just make my own 'project' in my profile and move my voice samples there so I'm not taking up a lot of space in the current VS project you created -- I noticed only 2 more files can be uploaded with a max space of 3 megs left... I'll leave one there maybe Posted Image

Ouch
Yeh, definitely needs administration.
I'll do it for now, though if anyone else is interested to help that would be very welcome. Send me, via PM preferably, a link to an external upload or your own personal project with the sample uploaded and I'll put them into a google doc and link to that in the project. I don't think that the project itself needs any files, though a printer friendly version of the sample material would be potentially useful.

Edit: DeaconX do you mind if I delete your files from the project just so everything's presented the same way to avoid confusion.  I've already deleated the one I uploaded.

I'd prefer if you could keep at least the first one up there just until I can move the files - I'm at work now and don't have access.  If you have to delete all of them though, that's alright - I'd just like if modders could still find my samples for the time being.

sure, that's fine. I can just see people in the future being jealous if there's some on the project itself and some only linked to :P  Doesn't have to be done immediately but it'd make things run smoother.

I agree Posted Image
Hope others start recording some lines as well soon.  We could potentially build a small database before modders even really begin hehe

very good job!!!

is that a pitchshifter on the warriors voice or did you down some whiskey before recording? :)

just kidding - i really like it!

I could only upload so much so I played around with my voice using a program called Audacity, just to manipulate the pitch here and there :) Glad you enjoyed it though! Posted Image

I don't think the deeper voices would work in a game environment, unfortunately.

no? i like deep voices - you mean just electronically edged voices or also natural voices? would there be problems with the background?

I suppose it all depends on how it's used...

Just to reiterate; what I meant by not working in a game environment is that when pitched up against a character model with lip syncing and such. Unless it's some super-deep dwarf, which is the rare case.

Had this morning off so I recorded some samples. They aren't very good or very varied IMO, but go ahead and look on the guild projects and judge for yourself.

If anyone actually wants some lines recorded, PM.

Hmmm, I see you have a project for VA samples, is that the one you mean?

In that case, I can't see any files available for download.

They're probably set to viewable only by group members.  I'll set them to public for you right now, Lathaon. Posted Image

Don't forget to PM me links to your projects so I can add them to the database. It is currently on the front page with 10 "likes". If you feel that it is or will become a good resource don't hesitate to "like" it to help keep it on or near the front page for easy discovery.

We're getting more and more files added and some new lines written to try out if you want. Check out the VA Samples Database here.

I just listened to your samples, and they were quite good, I must say!
