Token love interest? There's only been ONE Asari romance, while before we had 2 humans, and now we have at least 4 human romances in ME2. Why target the Asari and not humans? Sounds a little hypocritical...

I'm not just talking about the Mass Effect games but for future installments as well. I don't want to assume that "oh we have an Asari in our group? well thats one love interest down"

As for humans we are playing as a Human in this series of games not to mention that this is the first series in this universe, So to have a majority of the LI as humans just makes sense. Now if later on we play as the other races then we are going to have mulitple choices in that race as well.

I feel the opposite. I'm a little tired of all the human romances. I'd actually like even more alien romances. I say the same thing about the humans too. Both Kaidan and Ashley were romances, yay.

Now Miranda, Subject Zero, Jacob, AND Kelly (just a fling) are romances. Now every time I see a human squaddie, I think romance too. boooorinnngg.

Though, I don't see the asari as much better in that regard. The main reason I want Tali as an LI is because at least she'd be something different.

Exactly! I love me some humans. Hell, Jack's my favorite "new" character. They're probably all really interesting, but... I'm in it for the alien romances.

Well, she doesn't look that old, but she definitely looks more mature and aged than Liara or even the asari Councillor on the Citadel - though this could be more due to improved texture and detail in ME2 than anything else.

But I agree, she is sexy - I'm really hoping she is a love interest.

I'm going to agree with mione here. We've had one asari romance in ME 1 and it looks like we'll have one in ME 2. We had 2 human romances in ME 1 and it looks like we're getting 3 or 4 in ME 2. In both cases, all human and asari squadmates are love interests, so I'm not sure how 'it makes sense' is anything other you sterotyping humans as love interests.

So, yes, double standard there.

Samara looks... mature. Like a fine wine. She's a nice contrast to Liara, who was barely more than a kid by Asari standards. Samara should prove to be an interesting look at an Asari who's had a few hundred more years to become jaded.

I think Samara would be the fling, because of the code of the Justicars saying no children, which might just happen out of a long term relationship, and thus would not be considered a proper LI.
