What statistics? I said 'like what' meaning it wasn't meant to be taken as an actual reference to a real number.

So you really have no argument because you don't have any evidence that more people even wanted Garrus. It's only that the people who wanted him were just more vocal about it.

Actually, it is quite high on deviant art as well. Not just the boards. But shouldn't they really look at their boards? They ask for feedback.

Yes, they should look at their boards and also other boards, which I doubt they even did otherwise they would have addressed at least HALF of the concerns about the first game instead of adding things that people didn't like and improving things instead of removing them altogether. Really, if you're going to wholeheartedly believe everything they tell you that they did then I salute your willingness to live in total bliss and ignorance.

Yes, I believe everything they say. They have no reason to lie about their game because everyone is going to play it. oh, well, I believe that "small congregation" on their boards won. Maybe you should drop by and see those Garrus threads. Just so you can see how "small" it is. It grows by 20 pages a day. Every time I go to sleep and get on its flooded/

Lol if you are going to be like that then....ALL ABOARD THE QQ TRAIN!!! QQQQQQQQQQQ
We got Garrus and Tali woooooooooo Image IPB
I salute you for whatever you just said Image IPB I just care that Garrus and Tali are going on my ME2 copy. I'll keep my ignorance thank you. It got me Garrus.

You do realize it's mainly the same 5-6 people posting now, correct?

Granted, there's a delurker every page or two, but it's all the same posters posting how joyous and happy they are.

While I personally am not horrendously upset by the lack of a Samara romance, you could probably feel better by joining them instead of posting in a Samara thread.

It's people like you who make me laugh at how sad internet anonymity makes some people act.

Yes and its unoriginal comments about "ignorance is bliss" that make me laugh. QQ
I did come to talk about Samara. I liked her quite a bit actually. I just saw the comments going on. It wasn't even about Samara so it didn't matter what I typed really.  I was happy about the LI that we got, but I did think Samara deserved a place as long as it did not get in the way of anything. Samara is quite a better asari from Liara in my opinion. Pfft, lets kiss and make up. Seriously.

Out of a sense of curiosity, has anyone actually watched any streams or anything of that nature that has definitively confirmed that Samara is not a love interest?

Granted, we seem to be getting info on others, and I haven't been looking for fear of massive spoilers, and I don't want to raise hopes unnecessarily, but we still don't have a "no".

*edit*  In hindsight, I can see how this post could come off as gloating.  It is meant to be taken in context with another post I made earlier, but the "hetero doucebag" statement riled me.  I am not trying to gloat.  I am just trying to say that Bioware has now handed some bones to another minority part of their fanbase.  They are "rotating" so to speak.  We will see same sex relationships in future games.  I have no doubt.  I guess I'm saying something like, why can't we take turns?

Take turns? There's been a romance option for straight male and female PCs in every BioWare game since BGII. You might not have *liked* the options, but they were there.

You want to take turns? Sure, how about a game with six gay romances and not a single straight one? Then we can talk about 'rotating.'

No. There's also no stream that's definitively confirmed Grunt is not a love interest.

At this point, there's a great deal of evidence to suggest Samara isn't available, but I don't think anyone claims to be 100% sure.

Given that homosexuals only make up about 10% of the population, that makes perfect sense. Having every game 50/50 wouldn't.

Yet about 90% of hetero male gamers like f/f options, go figure ;)

Because you never give us a turn? Because it alienates a portion of Bioware's customer base when that happens? This is BIOWARE we're talking about, just about everyone who is interested in homosexual romance plays these games. It's not a small amount. Not having anything for them when you always had it in the past is a bad idea, sure replacing them with shooter fans work, but wouldn't it be better to have both?

It's a video game that is supposed to be about 'choices'....it's not real life.

I know in real life most girls won't want to get with me b/c I'm another girl....that's fine b/c I don't care.

But I would like to play a game with 'choices' so I can play my character as I would like (as a lesbian).  The fact that they can't even give one freakin' option out of six for those people that play this way is pretty  sad.

What the hell does that have to do with post I quoted? There have been straight romances in EVERY GAME since BGII. Whether you LIKE the romance or not doesn't matter, IT EXISTS. Then someone comes in here and acts like this is the first time straight female PCs are getting 'thrown a bone' and now it's 'their turn?'

Sure 10% of the population. This is Bioware, I'd be shocked if it was less than 25-30%.

On a seperate note, only what 17% of america is black, why have a black shepard option. In fact why let them play at all. Just ban them from video games.

Someone pointing it out? Oh wait that's old and boring too...

Here, what about if Samara was only attracted to "Asari like" individuals. That would mean the chances of her being Liara's mother would be very high. Would you still romance her if you already romanced Liara.

I'm sure you're aware that 'slippery slope' is a logical fallacy?

Anyways, 'black Shepard' is easy and practical, whereas 'give me a romance' is a much larger demand than most people seem to realize. Not only does it involve a huge amount of work on the part of the entire development team, but it's potentially offensive to part of the fanbase and if taken to extremes can compromise the story. Including ME1, there have been 9 'romances' in the Mass Effect series, and one of them was obviously F/F (unless you want to argue semantics ala Casey Hudson). Gay male gamers have more cause for complaint than anybody, but they don't seem to be the ones stirring up the issue.
