Though I have a feeling it won't be a "forced choice" like the DA:O secret companion situation some people compare it to.

And, from a utilitarian standpoint, he is likely more important to the future than any of the rest. He represents as radical change in how Geth operate and a path towards peaceful relations.
Very true. Maybe even more important then Tali.

Same, except for the utilitarianism. I'm a deontologist.lokiarchetype wrote...
I'll certainly answer what your question seems to be getting at-
I consider Legion as legitimate a lifeform as any of the other squadmates, just as I consider Data on equal footing with the other humanoids of the Stark Trek cast (though I find his character more interesting). He has an awareness of his existence and a desire to continue it, whether or not more complex emotions are attached.
And, from a utilitarian standpoint, he is likely more important to the future than any of the rest. He represents as radical change in how Geth operate and a path towards peaceful relations.
Obviously, the conflict can be resolved peacefully. I'll make sure that it is.

Yes...that's certainly a cold and calculated line of reasoning. One could almost call it...robotic. Get him guys! He's a Cylon, er, I mean Geth spy!

I could counter that since the Geth don't have emotions (they lack even a basic instinct like fear, as shown by the Enemies video), then no matter how smart they get, in the end they're just computers with really advanced programming. And of course, that's the kind of subtlety that makes Mass Effect such a great setting.
But anyways, this discussion is moot for me: Tali gets what Tali wants. Legion is a pile a rubble.
Not to intrude on the discussion, but I could counter this by asking: What is fear, anyway? A mechanism to protect yourself from damage or destruction. All animals have it because it helps them stay alive, and I'll bet the Geth have some form of self-preservation. We just don't call it 'fear'.

Just to clarify:
I mean AIRLOCK TALI, not romance her.

Actually my personality type is commonly associated with characters like Data... lol.
But as Commander Shepard it's your responsibility to think like that (I'll kill the Batarian terrorist everytime. And the dialogue he gives to explain his choice is awesome).
I define murder by the destruction of consciousness.
If your consciousness was uploaded onto a network or transferred to a robotic host, would that make you any less of a sentient life form?
...Ever watch Ghost in the Shell?
Haha.

Tali always wins, also legion doesnt
seem to be resisting so maybe he feels he deserves it and is regretful
for what the geth did to the quarians?
Humans do that too. Heroes do it as a negotiation tactic in fiction all the time.
It's not because they think they're guilty, but because they think you'll realize the wrongness of what you're doing. It's to make you aware of what exactly you're doing and that it's entirely your choice.
Resisting would make someone react (and shoot you).
Not resisting makes them think about it and hesitate.
And even if he did feel guilty for what the Geth did to the Quarians, it'd be as okay for her to murder him as it would be for him to murder her for what the Quarians did to the Geth.

I hope this is an opportunity to shoot tali in the face
I second that.
In a 1on1 between Legion and Tali, I don't know who'd win, so I guess I have to interfere and if I have to make a
choice between them - Tali goes down
