Sorry if this is old news.

That seems kinda high to me, if you still have to pay for the DLC after that, or maybe I still don't understand all this.
Granted if you get the game new it's free.

it's understandable that it's high as it's entire purpose is to get some money out of people that don't buy the game new

Those who want the DLC would find it cheaper to just buy the game new. Clever strategy.

Mind you, you don't have to be part of the Cerberus Network to get DLC.

Those who are part of the Cerberus Network get a cool interface and get deals and free stuff every now and then. One of the Good Doctors went over it in his interview on Kotaku.

It looks like some updates are free and then the bigger ones will cost MS points.

Nice way to get some money out of X360 pirates who want DLC, too.

Makes since its to get people to buy new insted of paying Gamestop $5 less for a used copy. Its a good thing i think Used games are terrible for the industry.

Like the others said, it's basically a ploy by EA to kill of Gamestop's used game market. I don't care too much myself, because I buy and keep PC games, and I already dislike EA enough that this is just another drop in the pond.

Maybe you should open your mind a little bit?  You know, they've changed quite a bit since their Evil Empire sports roster days of 1990/2000's.

Bioware's subsidation was the first step to major improvements, and their executive scene has been almost completely replaced with some great people.  The Good Doctors are VP's in EA, and the CEO (John Ricilietto) is really turning EA into a quality producer/publisher.

DLC is definitely a way to cope with much increased production costs due to major quality improvements.

Proper punishment for being a penny pinching whore.

Unless you're buying used games that are no longer being manufactured.

If you really love a game and the company that makes it, you'll buy it new. That bioware and EA have to take measures to encourage buying new is a sad sign of the times.

Considering that Bioware is gonna give free DLC, it may even out in the end. It's a nice deterrent, though,

EA vs Gamestop. . . it's difficult to decide who to root against, isn't it?
