Actually you could be right. I haven't checked my EA stocks in a while.

Which brings me back to my original point, all that flaming ago. Its a ripoff, for me.

You, however, should buy it 5 times. Actually, just give your money to EA. All of it. Maybe they'll let you touch Tali.

Ok so i'm going to say this only once, People ALL over are hurting. Bill gates lost MILLIONS Last year. EA is just trying to bring in profits. Yes It could be seen as a dick move to charge $15 bucks for the DLC but they are essentially bypassing M$ Marketplace with the cerberus network. You will get the DLC info from the cerberus network, and until i see it show up on the M$ marketplace i wont be in the position to believe that you can just get it from microsoft.

Coercing consumers into paying more for a product (either paying the extra 15$ or spending the rather large sum of 110$AU, or 60$US i suppose, for a new release) is a terrible practice. The first and perhaps least significant point is that consumers get less product for their money which is just annoying. The second is that consumers get less freedom with their own product as you can't resell or transfer electronic content. The third is that, especially in the case of games like DA:O where they have DLC available at release, developers are less inclined to shelve a well rounded game, preferring to release 'additional content' at the same time as the 'complete game' at huge profits effectively raising the cost of your average new release an extra 15-20 dollars. Finally it is just as likely that instead of paying the extra cheddar people will just become a part of that god awful pirating statistic which already plagues the industry. Aside from all this I'm inclined to believe that a well supported game post release will receive much improved sales without resorting to expensive DLC packs, implementing patches and smaller additional content the way Valve does with most of its games. Finally a great many DLC packs in the past have been absolutely, unfathomably, horrifically bad i.e. Pinnacle Station and crap DLC should definitely not be supported.

That's what you get for buying the game used.

What are you talking about "That's what you get." Heh.

Proper punishment for being a penny pinching whore.

Unless you're buying used games that are no longer being manufactured.

"Proper punishment." I'm not even going to debunk this. Just laugh.

I didn't quite catch that, but my statement still stands for those jackasses that buy used games for a 5-10 dollar reduction in price.

You're right, how dare they look for a good price on a video game. Excpecially in this economy where $5 or $10 might be all the disposible income some one has. How dare they take advantage of a bargin. They sould INSIST on paying an extra $55 just to be considered a moral and decent human being.

I am begining to hate all of you with a passion i reserved only for the remaining members of the third riech. I pity your familys, that they would produce such genetic failures.

You are a sad, strange little man.

Well.... to be honest. He does have a valid point. While I like this idea and support the day one DLC thing. Personally I have to feel sad for those who get caught up in it just trying to save some money. I mean there are valid points on both sides.

Although they have this time made that extra 10-15 dollars worth a lot more. I could see the expense being justified. Then again wanting to save money is good too.... hmmt his is so hard. Perhaps both sides are right, and it will depend more on individual circumstance.

Point or not, he's acting like a petulent child.

I make it a point of looking at facts. He was right, and you were right.

I don't care if someone is the biggest **** in the world and I don't like them. If they can logically debate with me and bring up valid points I will concede.

Er... not that either of you annoy me. I just want this to be clear. Heh. :wizard:

Hey, know how you could really p|ss me off? Go out and buy every EA game currently on the market at full price.

But only from the EA store.

Yeah, that would be showing me a thing or two.

Man I don't get it, couldn't a person just go to a friend with broadband and use his network for 10 mins or so to get the DLC?

Sorry if this has been covered but quick question. What happens if you change computers. Do you have to pay 15$ to use the cerberus network again?

Like the others said, it's basically a ploy by EA to kill of Gamestop's used game market. I don't care too much myself, because I buy and keep PC games, and I already dislike EA enough that this is just another drop in the pond.

Maybe you should open your mind a little bit?  You know, they've changed quite a bit since their Evil Empire sports roster days of 1990/2000's.

Bioware's subsidation was the first step to major improvements, and their executive scene has been almost completely replaced with some great people.  The Good Doctors are VP's in EA, and the CEO (John Ricilietto) is really turning EA into a quality producer/publisher.

DLC is definitely a way to cope with much increased production costs due to major quality improvements.

Well don't be praising too much. EA isn't doing so well and investors aren't liking that so if EA doesn't start doing better numbers John may be out of a job by the new fiscal year.

There's quite a few areas that just can't get Cable internet or DSL. They're limited to satellite internet and dialup.

Hell I can drive maybe 10 mins out of the city and find an area like this.

Between a small city and a town you can traverse on foot in about 4 hours. The cable lines don't run out into the country. And satellite internet access is just ridiculously overpriced, almost $100 a month.

Nope, DLC doesn't work unless you have an active connection to XBox live. I already tried thinking the same thing.
