 Why are almost all the squadmates biotics?  I like biotics and usually like to play as one.  Wondering why the preponderance of them and if I will have to have a balanced squad forcing me to take the same few people with me each time.

It's the exact same freaking ratio as ME1. You had six companions in ME1. 3 were biotics. Liara/Kaidan/Wrex



You have...what is it? 11 with Zaeed in ME2, right? 5 are biotics.



Miranda/Subject Zero/Thane/Jacob/Samara



In fact, if Zaeed isn't biotic, the ratio is actually LESS than in ME1.

From what I've seen Samara and SuZe are the only "pure" biotics, everyone else has other skills coupled with biotic abilities so you have some variation.

Half the squad has biotic abilities, same as ME1.



Plus, most biotics only have one or two actual biotic skills, so it's not that bad.

It seems to be pretty much half and half... Just like the first game.

Mordin and Grunt most likely.
Zaeed probably. Legion.

Also the squadmates only have 4 skills so it's not as simple as having an adept, soldier, engineer.
They all have unique combos. For example Thane has sniper rifles AND biotics. Miranda has Overload along with her biotics etc.

SuZe is actually Vanguard-like, I'd say. She uses shotgun and has an ammo skill (Biotic Ammo) as her unique skill (which I'll get as my Bonus skill, btw xD)

Then you throw in Zaeed Massini, the DLC Mercenary bonus squad character who's an all out Soldier class and you have more combat orientated characters than biotics.

It's funny because the posters of these topics almost never come back.

I imagine it's due to them being absolutely destroyed by the community, who actually know their stuff on the game, or  simply know how to count.

Let me revise, and apologize for the recurring thread, but I've never seen them, but the REVEALED and NEW members are mostly biotic. I know nothing of Zhaleed and I thought Mordin was a crewmate like Dr. Chakwas. So Grunt is the only revealed and new nonbiotic.

Mordin can definitely go with you on missions. It is theorized he'll be tech-based, though somehow not an Engineer like Tali. It'll be interesting to see what his three active powers are. Perhaps some toxic grenades?

Well, Javier provided the answer. Mordin's got Neural Shock, Incinerate, and Cryo Blast.

Well they removed the two biotics from the original team. What do you expect?

If they're going to increase the cast size to 10, and have removed 2 biotic users, you see where I'm going with this right?

And there's Mordin, Zaeed (Probably), Legion and Grunt. vs. Miranda, Jacob, Samara, Thane and Jack.
