I know some people are saying this is old but I was unaware of it. I need to finish my ME playthrough before Tuesday! (I originally played it on 360 and then bought it for PC later so I don't have any saves quite ready)

lol Bioware hates Kaiden

Aha that's hilarious, except you didn't read that part where he's not dead if you're a female by default.  He's not hated, just misunderstood.

It's same like in Star Wars Kotor 2, when you were asked qustions about Revan and fate of Rebublic in Star Wars Kotor 1.

Do you have the game? No? Then stfu.

It's not like KOTOR, you are asked just your GENERAL background, nothing to do with ME1 story.

This ain't old to me, why did Bioware get ride fo the question thing? and its kinda odd that the renegade choice is the default with the council. Has any one got a link confirming this change?

technically the council dying is not renegade, there is a way for council to die but a replacment of citadel council races be made with a human chairman.  I think that is the choice they pick, but then again it doesn't matter to me cause I have a bunch of save games where I make the choice.

Letting the Council can be the neutral choice. You can choose between save them, focus on Sovereign or leave them. Leaving them nags you the renegade points, for sure, but telling Joker to focus on Sovereign gets you less Renegade, and still has the Council killed.

He's probably just pissy because he never played ME1, and was hoping to skip out on it, and found out like a month or two late that BioWare removed that feature from ME2.

yea..so i will only have one playthrough with mass effect 2...why ?mainly cause i only have one save and can't be bothered to play through ME1 multiple times.Isn't this a bit to forrce u to play 1 multiple times.I would always save the council....seems likea logical course of action to me.Letting them die to get humans ahead seems like the cowards way in..even for a renegade...

Again there is a diffrence between letting them die and focusing on Soverign, focusing on Sovering in many ways could have been a very taticle move, it wouldn't be cowardly to want your men to die with the most numbers on there side.

Doing it though just cause you don't wanna save the council is another story.

You don't need a DVD to play Mass Effect, unless you unistalled it.  Least I don't need a disc, and I never did anything, it does online verification and once it did that I never needed a disc.

Are you sure?  Have you played the game and know for 100% certainty?  Honestly, I think the Eng/Sent classes look pretty fun this time around(can actually hit something with the guns in ME2), but I couldn't stand them in ME1... I was hoping to just be able to load those two classes and roll with it, but if *every* decision is set in stone as the OP stated, then I get to force myself to push through ME1 with those two classes in the next 5 days.  8/

I'm sure you can choose your class starting over. They wouldn't make you play as a certain class just because you didn't play ME1.

I find this strange, since Casey's said numerous times before that we'd get a sort of questionnaire sometime during the intro sequence.

I have to say, considering what else the OP has posted, I'm not really inclined to believe him.

I believe the intro thing is only to remind you of your choices in your save. If you pick something other than what you did in the save, they correct you.

I think

Yeah, that's how it works if you import. If you DON'T import, it'll make that the choice. At least that's what Casey said.

I think most of us can afford to wait till Tuesday, mainly cause as much as I respect Bioware information changes like time slots for Scrubs.

Don't see the big deal (if this is true), if you're getting ME2 you should've already played ME1 and if you haven't you suck and no one cares that you may get screwed over ;p

Actually, now that you mention it, I think Casey said that you could indeed skip it on a recent podcast. Posted Image

Actually not saving the council sounds right. When you make the decision in ME1 you get 3 options. 2 on the left are the upper paragon save option and the lower renegade let die option. 3rd option on the right is the default focus on Sovereign.

You want screenshots or something? I don't care if you believe me or not, I'm telling you there is no way to change choose what happened in ME1. Unless you import your old character, the first FMV has Ashley in it because by DEFAULT kaiden is dead. This is before you can press a single button in game. There is no questionarre.
