Tali didn't come across as racist to me. I took her with me on Legion's loyalty mission and she seemed pretty reasonable the whole time, with warranted suspicion at key points. When her and Legion clashed after the mission I was able to talk them both down and they settled the matter rather amicably.

If you speak to Legion, you'll find that the Geth believe in self determination and when a decision must be made, they confer with each other just like we do, only faster. The main reason they stay away from other sentient species is because they're still struggling to understand the other races of the Galaxy and cannot do so by direct interaction because everyone believes that they're a bunch of homicidal robots bent on the destruction of all organic life.

The Quarians, instead of trying to teach and nurture the race they created and inadvertently blessed with sentience, tried to completely destroy the Geth as soon as they began to show themselves as something beyond simple machines. The Geth then struck out in self defense, as any race would when faced with genocide, forcibly removing the Quarians heads from their asses and then driving them into space. I'm sorry, but the Quarians were in the wrong right from the start and have payed for their hubris and rash actions appropriately.

That being said, I believe the Quarians and Geth could work together, or even coexist seeing as how the Geth themselves have only been taking care of the Quarian planets and living in space stations themselves; the planets are still there and still viable for Quarian reclamation. I believe that a united Quarian/Geth fleet will be instrumental in defeating the coming Reaper invasion. However, it's up to the Quarians to make the first step toward peace because the Geth never held the actions of their creators against them.

Wow, you never really followed up with Ash. Ash by the way didn't really HATE aliens, she just had a humans first attitude. As you spoke with her you could bring her around to have a more we all can work together and are the same attitude. Did you always go renegade options or something?

To clarify, I romanced her as Liara is a bloody child in my eyes, Tali was a great deal more mature then her in the first ME game.

Yes you could do that ( talk her out of her views ), but who was yelling in the ending mission to leave the council to die? Shouting at the top of her lungs that their lives don't matter? ( paragon or no, she still is a xenophobic **** ). When you meet her in ME2, she states specifically that she has no love for aliens, but Cerberus is going to far. A big ignorant **** who can't even see past her own personal prejudices to help humanity.

I can respect Kaiden as a character for not joining Cerberus, he makes it very clear from ME1 that he doesn't believe the ends justify the means, Ahsley does believe that, hell she is the one to suggest most of the extreme actions in the game. So no, you can't justify her by what she says in a single dialogue line, considering her attitude doesn't change after.

Regarding Tali, she isn't a racist per se, she simply just wants her home world back, heck I can't blame her for that. She believes the only way to do that would be to destroy the geth, which IS a reasonable line of thought ( lets face it, how many of us could have believed the Geth were not a murdering race, hell bent of galactic destruction until we met Legion ?)

Yes Tali hates and fears the Geth, Along with the rest of the universe..everybody fears the Geth and with very good reason - It might not be right or just but it's not without reason, The Quarians and the general public of the universe sees the Geth as something akin to **** Germany 1939, You're not a racist if you hate and fear what you perceive as an enemy.

Anybody who says Ashley is a "racist" clearly has not delved deep into her character. Bunch of BS. On the same token, I don't believe Tali is a "racist" either.

Ashley likened fighting alongside aliens to siccing your pet dog on bears and running away. For that I let her sleep with the angels in the cleansing light of the Atom.

Tali had every right to dislike the Geth. So far as she knew, all they were all bloodthirsty. And the Geth do not have the individuality of humans, so don't equate what I said to human races, please.

Depends if you see the Geth as a race. I personally do, as the Geth have shown many attributes that we reserve to biological intelligent life and our definition of intelligent life is extremely limited.

I never thought Ashley was a racist. Intolerant maybe, but not racist. Which is understandable because her grandfather or something was in the First Contact War. Once again, with Tali, her species was driven from their homeworld by the geth. It's completely understandable that she'll have some hostile feelings towards them. Doesn't matter that the quarians made the first move, it seems like none of them but Zaal'Koris seems to realize that it's their fault. All the others think they're the wronged party.

So, racist against geth? Definitely. But as a quarian being brought up by a father whose goal in life was to drive the geth off the homeworld, it's obvious there was going to be some anti-geth influence.

Tali's dislike of the Geth felt much simpler to me: The Quarians have a vested interest in portraying the Geth as vile and evil monsters and it's not too much of a stretch to imagine that they instill that same hatred in their children. Tali just swallowed that philosophy whole and since she's never spoke to a Geth, she never had the chance to question it. I'm hoping that having the much more mellow and calm Legion around will show her otherwise.

This.

Ashley just thinks that humans shouldn't be trying so desperately to gain the trust of the Council. That's not so bad, but Ashley-haters grabbed that and called her 'racist'. Go figure, right?

But not this.

She just has a stick up her ass about what the Geth did to her homeworld, but forcing them to close their embassy at the Citadel was over the top, I'd be more pissed about them because it shows the Citadel Races have completely abandoned them.

Ne ways, on a serious note, even though I love Legion... personally I can't see them as people.
