Why do people think he isn't good at voice acting? Been watching the streams and he's doing a really good job this time around. He is able to convey alot of emotion, alot of different tones, he can be dark and he can be light. Very good. Now for FemShep. She looks like she is a bit more busty. More like Ashley now.

There is a FemShep stream up and I'm not impressed. I never played a FemShep in ME1 but the voice acting in ME2 for her is terrible. Its very monotoneish and lacking in emotion. She sounds very b*****y and apathetic. She literally cannot convey emotion the way you hear Meer convey it. The part I was watching was that first meeting with TIM.Plenty of footage of MaleShep can be seen and heard, so I compared. The same lines that Meer did with very subtly emotional hues and tones Hale was unable to convey the same sense of emotion and personality. She spoke in such apathetic monotone that she sounded hung over.

Watching a bit more she got better. But nothing like Meer. Meers voice makes him sound likeable, or like a ruthless SOB, whatever you want. She still, I don't know her voice seems a bit too deep to masculine.

They are both good, the Hale fan people are just complaining due to her not getting publicly recognized compared to Meer

Apparently.

I don't hate Meer. I don't even know the guy. And I don't loathe his acting so much as I just don't like his voice. Which...is possibly worse than just thinking he's a bad actor. There's just something whiny about the way he talks. Maybe it's just me, because I get the impression most people hate his acting ability (or lack thereof), but I just don't find his voice appealing.

This is different. Now there is a stream of FemShep so if you want to see what she looks like and how she sounds you can. Justin.tv look for Mass Effect 2, only 2 streams at the moment, its one of them.

I played Sheploo first before I did Femshep, and I thought that while not stellar, Mark Meer's VA was considerably better than Hale's. I think the people who say that they can't stand Meer's face and Voice Acting are high.

I really like Meer's acting, it wasn't at all like what I was expecting, and that's a good thing. He can be angry when he wants to, calm we needs to, and compelling when it calls for it. Overall, I'm glad he's Shepard.
