Alriiiight people, if you just answer the question, the thread stops quicker.
ME2 will be importing hundreds of decisions that you made in ME1. Every major Plot point is included, as well as nearly all side-quests. If you import your end-game file, every thing in ME2 that hinges specifically on decisions from ME1 will maintain your own canon.
For the future, use the "search" function before writing a topic. If you can't find something that has already been written on it, then anybody would be happy to help.

'Hundreds' of decisions should not be taken literally. There aren't 'hundreds' of decisions to even make in ME1. At most, there's only around two dozen choices, and even then don't expect every single decision you make in ME1 to have far-reaching consequences in ME2.

There are fare more sidequests than two dozen.
But, as for "far reaching," that is accurate. A few major plot points might have larger effects, but since the game is designed to be played by import and non-import alike, decisions won't necessarily be game changing.
It will enhance your experience, however. No doubt.
