 Don't you just find the geth adorable? There is something so endearing about them. I have never felt such dismay and guilt before when blasting away my enemies, even the bigger and more lethal geth types. The geth colossi are really beautiful; when I knock them down in the Mako it  feels like an assault on aesthetics. Actually when you keep on knocking 'em down and around you can get this really aggressive Mako/ Colossus ballet going...
I get the impression that the ME2 enemies will be far more loathsome, something you just really WANT to kill!

They aren't very adorable when a group starts to spam a dozen of those hexagonal shields in a narrow corridor...

Yeah ... they are kind of endearing. It's something about the head-shapes ... they just don't seem menacing. At best, they're nastiest they seem plan. Don't tell them though. They'll try pulling a wilting puppy-dog posture on us ... then we'll be screwed.


But they'll never be as adorable as jumping spiders.

Legion looks humpbacked and has a gapping hole in his chest. But he still manages to be adorable with his sad little head panels

But in addition they're not the toughest enemies in the games. I hate the organics & mercs...they seem to be tougher. And I kind of sympathise with 'em, their history n' all. But yes...I should not forget, they are embarked upon the destruction of all organic life.

Jumping spiders? We have little zebra jumping spiders in England which are very cute...but anything bigger...no...I don't think so!

Mercs are the nameless faceless cannon fodder of ME.  Geth have a bigger and more important role to play in the story I guarantee it.  Thats why we are meant to sympathize with their plight.

Is Legion someone from ME2? I'm not playing that game for at least 6 months. So just enjoying rehashing ME1.

Legion is an independent thinking Geth that has been tracking down Shepard for one reason or another. Not much beyond that is known.

Damn it! The geth are cute! I want to see some geth designs which are really EVIL!!! So how do you make that flash-light head EVIL ???(yes, I agree that is a great quote from Ashley!...it took me a while to get it tho...I never realised the geth were walking torches!)

Yeah...I don't want to play ME2 for a while. Hey...I know it will be wonderful. I loved ME1 when I first played it, never finished it altho in Ilos....picked it up again a couple months ago, got seriously re-hooked. To the point where I think it is possibly my favourite video game ever!!!

So, ME1 is still recent for me. ME2 can wait....and yeah, the mercenary in me...a few months from now it will be £20. Bonus!

I laughed when I saw this thread title, but actually, I totally agree. I thought I was the only one who'd ever had that thought. I don't really know why it is (the head shape does have something to do with it, I think), but yeah, there's definitely something weirdly endearing about their appearance. I think their "language" also contributes- for some reason, the sounds they make seem much more like something you'd expect to hear out of some cute, friendly robot helper character than an implacable killer AI war machine. I wonder if it was actually Bioware's intent to make them come off that way- I sort of doubt it, though on the other hand it does seem like they might be trying to "humanize" them more in ME2.

These days I am more on friendly terms with them. I like the leave the Mako so that I can see them better and wave at them. Strangely enough they never wave back. The sound they make is cute as well.

The geth androids look much like quarians. Come to think of it... Is Tali popular because of her hips or because she looks even more cute than a geth?

Geth are adorable with their little noises and flashlight heads. It was terrible killing them, I felt like a murderer or a Quarian. That spider is cute too ^^

Yeah, the sounds the geth make, just generally....and then those heart breaking little synth noises they make when they die. Shucks! Did I have to kill you? Could I not have just hacked and re-booted you to serve me for all perpetuity? Alas...you were charging at me with a pulse rifle...yes, I had to kill you...
