The whole transfer your high level character so you get bonus points to use is misleading. Before it was believed that you get bonus points for transfering a level 40-49, 50-59, and level 60 with each range having more points than the last. This isn't the case. You don't start out with "bonus points" you start out as a higher level, thus more starting points.

Level 40-49 = Level 2 Speculated
Level 50-59 = Level 3 Confirmed
Level 60 = Level 4 Speculated

The speculated is taking into account that the person transfered a level 58 character, the middle range, the 40-49 range would be a level lower, and the level 60 would be a level higher.

Read somewhere on the board that a Lvl 60 transfer will net you a Lvl 5 starting character...although, 4 or 5, its not that big a deal. Either way, it's a weird decision. I suppose if you want to start off as a Lvl 1, just import a Lvl 30 character.data:image/png;base64,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%3D

Wait, somebody actually thought they'd get a substantial reward for being level 60? I thought it was obvious it was going to be like this...

I never bothered to go from 59 to 60 on my main Shepard, but I'm content either way. (Would suck if you had to grind through ME1 several times for every Shepard if you wanted the "bonus".)

What... "Bonus points?"

EVERYONE has been saying experience, which it pretty much is. Don't know who OP heard "bonus points" from.

i am pretty sure it takes a lot less time to go from level 3 to 4 than grinding a leve 60, i wonder what people feel if they grind multiply 60s charcters.

LOL! No! You only need to have the level 60 ACHIEVEMENT on your save file. Not on the character itself. So if you have a level 60 character all characters afterwards will get the bonus. I sincerely hope nobody thought they had to have 60 on every character.

EDIT: You could also replay a save with a character from before the 60 achievement and upon beating the game the new final save will now contain the fact you have the 60 achievement. I'm looking forward to starting a few levels higher. Put the points right into my class skill and start getting bonus negotiation points from the get-go.

Does anyone know how much money you get with the rich achievement? A message would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, but I wouldn't care since I'm importing a Level 60 character.

IT IS. Just like the money is based on if you have the Rich ACHIEVEMENT not the money your character has on the save.

nah it's the CHARACTER you import, achievement stuff only work for the money part. That is why you have 3 different bonuses for 3 different levels of characters, otherwise how do they distinguish the three?

honestly, it's more fair this way. those that didn't play me1 would have a legit complaint if their character couldn't be as powerful.

The Rich achievement is probably the only way they could track your credits, but being able to track Level 60 is probably fairly easy. And not all bonuses are tied to achievements, anyway.

All I know is that I don't remember the 60 Achievement ever being discussed for the experience bonus, just the LEVEL.

Also; if there's a bonus for getting level 35, 40 and 50, etc. How can the Level 60 Achievement track that?

Wow, I'm really glad I didn't try to grind out 60.

Bonus points would be a really tempting reward as you're getting something that cannot be attained any other way

Bonus experience is meh-tastic.

It could be REALLY difficult to hit Level 30, just like it is to hit Level 60 in ME1.

The bonus experience might be there so you don't have to waste that experience working toward  the first five levels, and more toward 30.

Just a thought.

I do feel sort've cheated. Maybe we'll get 1-2 bonus skills for being 60.

Honestly can't feel THAT cheated unless you got to level 60 JUST for ME2.

Getting level 60 was just completing Mass Effect 1.

That level 58 character started with something along the line of either 130000 or 190000 credits. And like 5000 of every resource.

I didn't really "grind". I just played barebones (main quests only) over a few times, until I was level 60, which didn't take that long and wasn't really that tedious. I was only serious on my last playthrough, which I COMPLETED.

The way the new system seems to operate, I'm thinkin' 1 level on ME2 is a lot better than 1 or 2 levels on ME1.

Lol!  Yeah, what has been said previously is definatelyl misleading if that is the case.
