Why does BioWare continually neglect hairstyles?

It may seem like a small and unimportant thing to some people, but I find it hard to believe that the horrible character creator wasn't one of the top 5-10 concerns they got from fans.

This at least gives some semblance of more choices.
But yeah, in a game where you are the protagonist, the lack of hair styles is disappointing where customisation plays a large part.

They are military. They aren't allowed to have hair. Just that simple. Can't fit it in the helmet.
Well, Shepard hasn't been military for close to three years now.

(Spoilers?)
...He was dead during that time. Kinda hard to grow hair when your dead.

When you have a major reconstruction at the genetic level I imagine different or longer hair isn't really an issue...

Well, during the year(ish) he spent chasing Saren and then afterwards looking for ways to prepare for the true reaper threat, he was non-military.

He still has Millitary personal working under him and does still represent Humanity.
But yes, the commanding officer of a spaceship and Spectre Agent should be running around in a neon green Mohawk.

either. Funny, that.

Be sure to have them send headshots to Bioware.

Not in any official capacity. He only answers to the Council, and any issues regarding Shepards race is purely a matter of public perception. My Shepard really couldn't care less what a bunch of couch potatoes on Earth and self-entitled admirals think.

The hyperbole is strong with this one.

Nobody is asking for wackiness. We're asking for more realistic and attractive options to make our Sheperds our own, which is pretty much the point of the game.

"So I was wondering, do you have a crew cab long bed available in this color?"
"You don't need it, you said you were a lawyer, you don't have anything to haul big enough to constitute something that large."

Top row is facial structures (+ Default shep)
Bottom row is hair styles

What I love is that some people actually DON'T want more choice in hairstyles, you guys would be great car salesman...

Most likely shooter fans who aren't used to customizing their characters.

So Yeoman Chambers isn't apart of the Alliance Millitary, despite you know, having a rank?
And if I am not mistaken the surviving crewmembers of the first Normandy return (Joker, the Doctor). So they all have left the Service in two years?

And lets see how fast they cut off your funding.

You contrarians are trying to present a
false dichotomy of either the poorly designed character creator we have
now, or some wild afro/mohawk from Tony Hawk Pro Skater. You're either
being stupid, or dishonest.

Shepard is middle aged (or at the very least late twenties) and has been in the Millitary long enough be the XO of a ship. If you have hairstyles that are appropriate for that type of character, then maybe you should make a thread with examples of what you want to see Bioware implement instead just stating the current options are lackluster.
