So Yeoman Chambers isn't apart of the Alliance Millitary, despite you know, having a rank?

Not in any official capacity. He only answers to the Council, and any issues regarding Shepards race is purely a matter of public perception. My Shepard really couldn't care less what a bunch of couch potatoes on Earth and self-entitled admirals think.

And lets see how fast they cut off your funding.

Yeoman isn't a rank, it's a naval position. Like Helmsman or Navigator.

Sure I'd like more. Space mullet! But complaining about it won't make it happen, so why bother? Just ride the lightning. ...Not sure if that's the most appropriate saying for that, but meh.

this is a very apt analogy, i would also liken the purchase of a $30000+ automobile to how pretty my video game character looks

Pardon? I, personally, want a version of the combed-back hairstyle that is two inches longer, maybe even less than that.

They're Cerberus personnel, now. Cerberus has no official ties to the Systems Alliance. Moreover, Yeoman Chambers has a distinctly non-military hairstyle, and Miranda even moreso.

And lets see how fast they cut off your funding.

What "funding" do you mean, exactly? If you mean the Normandy, well, I've got a better one, now. Old one blew the hell up.

Hair is very easy to do in UR editor. It's the modeler and if they choose to make it move, the particle system/ hair generator. I cant seem to figure out why Bioware is so bad at hair either... It has nothing to do with Unreal. Moving hair has been in PS2 and Xbox games... Bouncing breast have been in PS1 games and that's harder to do, though the Physics weren't perfect. I always wandered about the hair and though it kind of improved in DA:O, it was still pretty bad. Like facial hair... But when the only example of facial hair you have is Luigi at Bioware... I guess when you see a mustache of that level of greatness, you get scared to try to duplicate it and risk desecrating it's greatness ingame. In the end, it's icing on the cake that could make it all the more sweeter. Hopefully they do better hair in ME3.

Actually, complaining about a lot of the things in the first game got the devs to change or improve them in the second game.

Well, the videogame industry is a multi multi billion dollar money game, they like to please customers, so you know, they come back and buy again...  Like I said, you'd make a wonderful salesman, lmao:lol:

Belittling, and implying someone is gay.

This... is disheartening news for me, if it's the same for femshep - it will look completely stupid if my femshep has to wear the same stupid plastichair standing next to Miranda :/

*sigh* almost seems like the character generator is made as an afterthought...

Is it just me that really values character creators in RPGS? I mean, I can spend hours and hours just making characters if the character creator is good.

If what the OP posted is true - I'll be sorely disappointed, and what is the reason of making you able to change your Shep from the first game, if there's nothing new?

a large part of that is i don't understand the frustration, you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but never all of the people all of the time, i'm just glad that bioware has continued to focus on the story, there are tons of games out there that look pretty but fall flat everywhere else, if your main concern is that your collection of pixels hair doesnt flow realistically in the wind youre just nit picking, its not possible for a game to get everything right because of the vast amount of "right" ways there are so in summation if you think your money would be better spent on another game go play, exercise your choice

I'm with you, I can spend literally hours tweeking stuff in a char creator, City of Heros, Aion (For all 10 days I played it) etc, and ya I was really hoping it was improved, but I can't complain as APB is coming out soon and, well, there has never been nor will there ever be a character creator as robust and just pure WIN as its'

Here's a clip to what is the ultimate character creator ever made *Warning* - May cause depression concerning ME's Char creator... Also may cause certain individuals to pass out from sheer amazement www.youtube.com/watch

Just found a picture of a female Shepard from this thread: http://social.biowar...703540/3#704815

Here's the pic: http://img339.images...i/femshep3.png/

Well, it looks like the texture is a little better than it's predecessor, and (not completely sure) but it looks like they modeled in some loose hairs, which is kinda nice. -shrugs- So long as they still have the Dr. Chakwas hair I'll be happy, that was my favorite hair.

And...APB...

-faints-

That IS pretty amazing. But it's a shame it's a MMO. I also don't think it'll be the greatest that they'll EVER be... But I can imagine it'll be the best atleast for a few years.

I'm good at exaggeration, lol, though I do think APB will probobly hold the customization title for many many years, it's just soooo complex and lifelike... Also read up on it a bit more, it's not your typical MMO, it might not even be pay by month, they were debating that.  It's really more of just a fully customizable massive MMFPS, it even has Vox control so you can adjust the pitch of your voice in game, proximity voice structure so you can whisper things so nobody else can hear you except your friend right next you or you might have to yell to let your pals know a cop is coming around the back of a building.  Oh, one last thing, you can make your own music, like theme songs that play in your car or when you kill another player (They hear yours if you kill them, etc)

Back on Mass Effect, looking at the pics of femshep in that thread I must say the armor looks wicked... I'm liking what I'm seeing, I'll need to see the head close up and without massive blur to really tell one way or another on the textures, but overall it is an improvement.

to the people saying that "oh its not a fashion game" ITS AN RPG. youre playing a role. people like to have customization in it. i know a lot of people like making a character similar looking to themselves in an RPG so you can insert yourself into that role and feel like theres even more depth. i dont see why they didnt do something a long the lines of "upload a picture of your face to EA" to at least map your look into the game, or use the xbox camera or something. that technology's been around for years, i'm sure if BW actually put effort into it they couldve made a good character creator. i'll be disappointed if all the options are same. some of them were very ridiculous like the mouth/nose/brow/chin depth and height, if you messed with those your character came out looking like he has down's syndrome (no offense to anyone)

I don't even think there are Scar options now if there are I haven't seen them in any of the million playthroughs on JTV.

That does sound pretty amazing. But I bet you have to have a monster of a computer to get the graphics looking like they do on that E3 preview. :P

Yeah we definitely need new pictures, which is why Bioware should've been giving them to us all along! How hard is it to print screen or something :P

I resent the implication that we don't want more "options"

I don't think anyone even said that more was bad or that they were fine with the original ME1 options.

But, given the context and complexity of the game, I understand. I'd rather they spend their time to perfect other asthetic and artistic aspects of the game before they worry about tossing in another 20 or so hairstyle options that may or may not even look right or clip with armor or other objects. My personal immersion isn't going to be broken because I can't duplicate my frohawk.

another big gripe: why the hell doesnt your beard line up with your sideburns? all the facial hair stops like an inch or two before shepards incredibly high sideburns. who has a beard like that?

Thanks for the link. Certainly impressive.

I think it would make a damn good character concepting/build tool. I wouldn't be surprised if they took that aspect of the game and marketed it at studios.

See that's what I'm talking about - now THAT is a character generator that APB has... Oh, and to all of those that keep saying Unreal Engine 3 can't do hair - guess what engine APB uses.
