Humans, the only competent race in the galaxy.

For aliens, Turian. I like their design.

The salarian councilor strangely remembers me of Emperor Palpatine...

More love for Salarians! Salarians are great, I love listening to them talk. It's a shame they don't live long, but hey, they only need 1 hour of sleep a night! So they get about 8 years 'extra' to live. Still, means they don't reach 50... ah well.

Well overall all races are well developed. Very good back stories. Except for the female issue for some races its all good.

But overall I like the Krogan because they are the original badasses

I really think it's hard to say any ONE race is best, especially seeing as how Bioware put so much effort into every last one of them. I mean, the amount of biology homework they must have done is hilariously badass!

Turians being based on a different protein requirement meaning that food for them is pretty much junk for us. Maybe it's just my lack of full-on knowledge, but I don't remember Star Wars or Star Trek ever going that route. I also find their Starship Troopers/Modern Israel style society of citizenship granted through public service really cool.

The Elcor, as these overly muscled creatures from high gravity planets was also incredibly cool, though it makes me sad you don't seem them on Earth-level planets moving fast as all hell (think the Prawns from District 9, Christopher tells his son that their planet was much bigger, it explains why they can leap the heights they can and how they're able to dismember humans with a single kick). That said, the humor around them was also great. The Hamlet idea? Gold!

The Volus actually kind of annoy me, however. Yes, I get it, they're Tribal Mercantilism... but how did these tribal groups EVER coalesce enough to get to the level of technology needed to build spaceships, discover FTL travel, or even create ANY form of enduring economics that would have been useful as a galactic standard? Yes, they trade all the time in terms of people, lands, etc... etc... but... that's not exactly commerce as even we on Earth would consider practical for a world standard. It's a barter system! :P I do like that the differences in pressure and atmospheric composition make them unable to endure Earth like conditions. It also makes me wonder if we might ever hit up one of their colonies and have to keep OUR suits on while we see them in their regular attire. I have to admit, the blatant lack of support from the council seemed really weird too. They've been around for almost the duration of the Council, helped create Galactic Commerce, and... somehow have never been rewarded with a Council member? Seems kinda weird to me.

The Salarians as a short-lived species, seemed interesting to me. Though a circumstance around them annoys me. Everyone in ME keeps talking about how humanity isn't trusted due to being too short lived and rushed in their lifetimes, while most post-industrial nations here on Earth can reach lifetimes 50% to 100% longer than the average Salarian. Are we really supposed to believe the Council isn't used to a short-lived species with another short-lived species around already? :P

The Asari are decent enough for me. The idea of a one-gendered species was really cool... and I think whoever said they have male bits may have missed the point. Think of them like...flowers. Yes, they have the capacity to fertilize themselves... but that's because they have no gender. I'd have to imagine, the "down there" section of their body is female due to the whole, giving birth thing.

The Quarians are also pretty cool (including their sharing of an abnormal protein requirement for nourishment), but it annoys me, again, that we never SEE THEM directly. I would have assumed on the Flotilla that they would be in regular clothing. I find it very difficult to believe they would be in those suits from birth to death. I mean, let's face it, we're talking a MASSIVE resource issue. Anyone in bio-research or haz-mat can tell you, those environment suits are really not made for patching. Recycling of materials makes sense, to a degree, but I really assumed there would be some dressing down of them. The lack of seeing that really makes me wonder if Tali will in fact be a romance option this time around.

Anyway, most people here gave like two sentences and I've got quite a few paragraphs. :X

I have to admit, Thane's (and all Drell, I would assume) dual eyelids. The inner layer (which I would assume is more for aquatic life) and the outer. Seriously, half my friends who watched that video missed it. He's got the usual up/down eyelids and the side-to-side eyelids which are at least semi-transparent. I know I've seen that in other aliens in some other piece of visual fiction, but I can't come up with where it came from.

Volus. They're shrewd, and they're not shy about it.

And they're bitter. Everyone likes bitter.

Favorite? The elcor. They look genuinely alien, have an interesting biology and psychology, and seem to do quite well politically (for a lesser species). The fact they are usually entertaining is just icing on the cake. A big, gray, lovable cake.
