Is there any point in delivering the items to Jetta? Does it do anything? Do you get anything from it? Is there at least any extra experience points? Or is it just a waste of time bothering and just better to take them for yourself?

I think you get XP for completing the quest, but you don't get anything from her that I remember for completing the quest. It's just nice to do, if that's the way your character swings.

as far as i remember whats in the box is pretty worthless so you might as well hand it in.

You get xp. But afaik there's nothing of value in the box. I personally would rather have the xp.
