Hey all,
Me and my team have reached the one year mark in our work on our Persistent World based in an alternative future Neverwinter and surrounding areas.
But as things go, we've lost an admin & scripter, and two builders to real life stuff. At this point we're down to a team of three, and all of us are newbs at this.
We've run out of help and options and are well over 2/3 done with the module. We've got hosting, we've had a beta up for months but we're stalled and stressed and really really need some help.
If anyone who's a regular here is at all interested or willing to get into skype with the team and do some mentoring, take a look at the module both in the toolset and online, we'd greatly appreciate it.
I fear if we don't make some forward progress with scripting and finalizing the PW we're going to have to dump the idea.
Thanks ahead of time to those who are interested.
Shameless begging for development staff

I can help by handing over any existing content I have that could be useful.
I would not be a reliable member of the team in the long term though.

It might help if you specify which skills in particular you need. Is it scripting, area creation, quests, convos, etc?

We do have some one now taking a look at least at the entire PW, giving us some tips on things we can do better to have a more streamlined beast. (Better load times, avoiding common scripting conflicts, etc.)
However, as far as long term committed help or members of the team we need people who are conversant in one or more of the following:
Legends Plug in Quest Creation and Crafting.
A full time scripter.
Some one who knows from start to finish, campaign creation, staging and admin work for a server
MySql.
And at least one area builder, though someone who is capable with both interiors and exteriors.

Wow. Thats quite a few hats needed. I guess the remaining team need to start branching out, learning other aspects, unless you find enough people willing to fill all those roles.

Currently, we have three builders, one hak and 2da person. Two of the team are doing all they can to learn the admin aspects but we are all self taught and running into problem after problem, hence the desire for a mentor until they have that down pat and working well.
One of us has been working with the rest of the Legends stuff, doing all the spawns for grinding areas and the rest.
The PW itself? Is nearly fully built, meaning areas both interior and exterior are nearly all finished. We've a few places that need tweaking, which is why we're hoping to get another builder. They wouldn't be developing new content, only working on filling buildings with things like furniture etc or placing and seeding trees.
It is at this point all about putting on the finishing touches.

Then my suggestion would be to focus on getting it hosted and open up the server for a beta week to get feedback. It may help you then set priorities for where to focus your energies.
Having 4 staff for development is pretty good i think, i'm sure you can finish it if you focus.
As for your scripting troubles, well, you can always ask on these forums about what you want, and people may give you the basics of the scripts you need. Ill certainly chip in this way and im sure others will.

We already have it hosted, already have had beta, and ran into problems that plague us.
And we've gotten good advice and are making some forward motion, however, we do need a mentor which lucky for us we've gotten.
And its not four staff, we three are handling all those positions.

I might be interested in helping out on the building side, I have worked on quite a few servers over the years and dont have a project at the moment.
Drop me a message if your interested.
