Based on the law vs chaos / good vs evil spectrum, and while I know that alignment is largely subjective based on an individuals own moral compass and views you will not get bonus points for pointing that out. Just use it as sort of a loose reference to give a brief explanation of how your Inquisitor will act.

For instance personally I was thinking of going lawful neutral somewhat like the Inquisition attack dog, single minded in their goals petty concerns such as "morality" have no place in the Inquisitor's thoughts, there is only order and anyone who disrupts that shall be dealt with severely for the Inquisitor is the law.

In general, I tend to go for Chaotic Good.

I find such labels inadequate, but my Inquisitors will do what they think is right, ie; what I think is right.

They are just like me - neutral good with a darker side that hides deep within them.

Of course, stands at the good end of the good vs evil scale but somewhere in the middle of the law vs chaos scale.

perhaps a brief explanation of how you character represents a certain alignment and why you consider them such would be helpful.

In Dragon Age: Origins my Warden I'm going to import to the Keep was a Lawful Good Dalish Rogue, in DAII my Mage Hawke was pretty much all sarcasm choices which I suppose is Chaotic Neutral, so for the Inquisitor I think I might go for a Lawful Evil ends justify the means character.

Well, I'm basing my Inquisitor off Anya from Buffy, (my avatar), so my first playthrough will be Lawful Neutral.

The majority of both my PC's and OC's have had various alignments, stances, ideologies and factions they have owed their loyality or devotion to.

And while most have been fairly unique i am planning for my first Human Male Warrior Inquistor to be based off of my Knight Paladin from my DnD Days, He was an interesting character when it came to morality and stance given it actually shifted between campaigns but i am basing him off his later playthroughs so.

Lawful Evil.

To be honest, it depends for my character, largely on the situation we find ourselves in to begin with, as well as the situations he will be in, but in general, range from lawful evil to true neutral towards humans (It depends on how they act towards him and other elves), chaotic good to lawful neutral towards dwarves (largely depends on how much of their society he sees and why he is interacting with them), lawful good towards elves, and grudging respect towards Qunari (not really sure where on the spectrum he would be here).

End of the day, I would probably average it out to chaotic-ish good.

My Dalish Mage and main inquisitor will be chaotic good
My Qunari Rogue will be True neutral

My Dwarven Warrior will be Lawful Good
as for my Human Rogue Chaotic Neutral will suit him the best.

And I'll Definitely do an Evil playthrough probably a lawful evil one...

And here I thought Inquisitors were supposed to enforce some brand of law, no matter how twisted it may be.

My characters tend to vary, but overall they encompass mostly the Good and Neutral bars.

Why?

...You don't seem the type to place personal advancement above morality, Nor do you seem the type to do whatever needed to overcome opponents or to ensure you're agenda.

Admittedly its just my personal interpretation it may or may not be correct.

Actually I meant "Why  -_- ?" but forgot to put the emoticon.

The former is true, but the latter really isn't. I prefer not to resort to such tactics, but if there is no other option I'll do it wholeheartedly. But Neutral Evil and Chaotic Evil are going too far for it to be enjoyable for me unless they are really specific scenarios.
