Neutral.
Whether its chaotic, lawful, evil or good is of no consequence. It's really the way to go. I (NOTE the emphasis on 'I' meaning that its subjective) feel it's best to go through an RPG with a framework of said character, how he/she develops is up to you using that framework. Think of Martin's analogy of the 'gardener.' You have the tools necessary to plant what you want to plant, but it's through experience and time that the seed grows into something you never thought it would.

I had to look these up because I wasn't sure what this meant. But I think I get it, and I think my Dalish inquisitor will be chaotic neutral or chaotic good.

Lawful Good. Honor, Duty and All people of the Faith. These are the reasons(I hope) my Elven Warrior fights.

So... what alignment would my Dalish Mage be if you actively work to give your people a homeland... even if it means, maybe.. perhaps burning the Orlesean Empire to the ground? ![]()

Lawful good/Chaotic Good.
I go with my gut on what feels right, and am way too empathetic towards others.

Neutral Good to Lawful Neutral i suppose. I'd like to get Chaotic Neutral run, but that alignment is very hard to RP, at least properly.

Well since my main character will be a human female mage who will resort to murder/kidnapping/torture/blackmail/seduction/lying to achieve her goals, I guess she will be extremely evil ![]()

Chaotic Neutral for the win!

Lawful Neutral would probably best describe the Inquisitor I plan to play.
His ultimate loyalty is going to lie with the realm rather than with the factions inhabiting it. He'll be single-minded in his quest to restore order, mercilessly crushing anyone who threatens the security of the realm regardless of their motives or station. He might sympathize with the plight of alienage elves or mages stuck in the more abusive towers for example, and would support reform within the system, but would have zero tolerance for those who attempt to tear down that system. Rebels can expect little mercy. Likewise he'll have zero tolerance for templars who go beyond their mandate to protect both society and mages, by oppressing or unjustly harming their charges. Their heads would be just as sure to decorate a spike as a rebellious mage or city elf. Corrupt government officials would also have much to fear from him.
He'll take no enjoyment from violence and merely sees it as a means to an end. He would not balk at ordering people tortured or executed if it helped further that goal of securing the realm, or if actions of the condemned had demanded that an example be made of them. But he would never commit or order violent acts just for the sake of violence itself. He'll be capable of cruelty, without being a sadist. Violence or cruelty would merely be tools to securing the realm. Likewise if securing the realm means that he must sacrifice a part of his own soul or humanity for the greater good, so be it. He is prepared to do whatever is necessary.

My 'canon' Warden was definitely Neutral Good. Tried to do the right thing, didn't care much for where things fell on the Law vs. Chaos axis as long as they seemed right. With my Hawke it's a lot harder to say - she tried to do the right thing, but for her the right thing was protecting mages. If some Templars had to have an unfortunate encounter with a giant sword in order for mages to be protected, oh well.
I only have a vague concept for my dwarf rogue Inquisitor, but I think she may come out Chaotic Good. I'm afraid she's going to be a terrible leader.

The usual. Neutral Neutral.

I try to be practical above all else. If a rule stands in the way of myself doing the right thing, I'll ignore it. So chaotic good for me I guess.

Then WTF about your Zaeed avatar!
(ok yeah Mass Effect and not DA)
Three Words: Five Man Band
Hero: Shepard
Lancer: Garrus
Smart Guy: Tali
Chick: Yeoman Chambers
The Heavy: Zaeed
Zaeed added the least heroic element to ME2, where He was a old Merc for hire and he was awesome.
*cough*
Lawful Good does not equal Lawful Stupid. Also Ned was awesome.

Might sound boring but I always like Chaotic Good, doing what I believe is right and f*** rules and regulations lol. Actually most of my characters are like that so I'm pretty sure I will roll with it again in DA:I

for people looking for context on what is what here are the examples of alignment in Dungeons & Dragons*

*Provided Wiki hasn't been edited to say Lawful Good people are elephants that prefer to shower frequently while providing shade for Zebras.
Thanks! That really helped ![]()
As I thought, I usually play neutral good characters.

Definitely lawful neutral. Ensuring that the laws and traditions of Thedas are enforced is a priority, moral considerations are a distant second.

My characters kinda fit rather well for certain alignments.
For my Warden, Chaotic Good. She didn't give a crap about rules, regulations, anything like that. Total rebel wannabe.
For Hawke, Neutral Good. Always did what he thought was right, no matter if it was against or for authority.
My Quizzy's either gonna be Lawful Evil, Chaotic Evil, or Chaotic Good.
I usually have a hard time playing lolevil characters, but I'm going to try at least once in DA:I.
Maybe.
Definite maybe.

In my first playthrough of pretty much any game I always try to do the right thing in any given situation (well, what I think is the right thing to do) and it'll be the same with Inquisition.

My canon Warden was mostly lawful good, and after some character development in Awakening became neutral good. My Hawkes are chaotic good, and I suspect my Inquisitor will be the same.

It'll vary depending on character.
Ultimately I will end up with one character whose attitude is a reflection of my own personality which would be Chaotic Good.
Although I will probably end up with more than one chaotic neutral too

I mostly do a good and an evil playthrough... I do the good one first, mostly to enjoy the story and play the way it feels right to me, and a second one where I will rain death upon each and everyone.
