Hey there!

I did have a question that I really want clarified, it doesn't make much of a difference since it's a two day gap, but why is the game being released two days after the North American release in Australia? We've usually shared the same release date in the past, what's changed?

Thanks in advance for replying. :)

We get it a day later than you in the UK.

I don't know why, but PAL regions generally are a day or two later... No biggie though, gives me more time for my ME1 run through (I'm not at home right now...) =P

Hehe, but as I said before, we've usually shared a North American release date here for highly anticipated games; I am sorry for Europe for usually getting them a day or two later. I'm referring to the PC version however, which aren't region specific.

The standard release day in North America is Tuesday, whereas it is Friday in the EU. I have no idea what it is in Australia, but if ME2 is releasing two days later then it is probably Thursday. God knows why they adhere to this with so many games, it is most tiresome.

The 26th is also a public holiday in Australia, which doesn't exactly help first day sales figures...

Well if this helps, Dragon Age came out the same day here as it did in America for the PC.

Well, you guys should probably just come to the US and buy ME2, then go back home and play it! Problem solved!

Not sure that would work with the differences between PAL and NTSC.

Not that hard to find. Every retailer is pretty much saying January 28.

What I want to know is if we will still have access to that free "first day" DLC, since we'll be getting it a day or two after the "first day" in the US.

Well, yeah with the 26th being Australia day, there isn't much chance of getting many people into retailers, let alone workers haha.

We usually get them a day or two, I don't mind the wait since our Thursday (The 28th) is NA's Wednesday anyway, so according to them we're only a day behind...I think.

True, still I just find it odd... Why not just make it the 27th if time differences are the problem. I know it's only one day, but it's rather confusing; that and EB Games and such saying it's released on the 28th... I preordered the collecter's edition from that company so... I don't know, although EB Games did have a bad reputation when it came to releasing Mass Effect 1. >_> They accidently released it a week before the intended release date. xD

Normally they do release early (and gotta love em for it), but it's less likely this time around when they've gone to the trouble of arranging launch events.

just wait and see. typically Target will sell early and thanks to Australian law all retail stores stocking it must then release it. so we will probably have it on Thursday or late Tuesday given history.

m not endorsing the early release of ME2 in just saying what I think will happen.

Thursday is the day when all the shops open late and more people are out. I think films get released on Thursday as well.

The 26th is Australia Day...most people will be out in the city and just about every shop will be closed.

I still think Australia day should be on Jan 1 as that is when we federated... every other state has a Proclamation day, why on earth do we have to have Australia day on NSW's Proclamation day.
