People are playing this game right now. Not because they went out and bought it, no because it was leaked. I however, like many other loyal bioware fans will sit and wait until the street date and pay the proper price for the game.

Heres my problem with this and honestly it has nothing to do with money or anything like that. It's simply not fair that these people can out and play this game for free while we the paying customers need to wait an extra 5 days to play the same exact game. Its not fair to us just like its not fair to you the devs that put so much hard work into this game only to see it pirated.

I understand you have contracts and other crap that wont let you release the game early, but seriously, if not only to even the sides for us the loyal customers, do it to increase profit. When you as a game developer see that your game is pirated just send the order to release the game. Why is that so hard? The stores have the game. We all know the stores have the game. Just release the damn thing it make it easier on both of us.

As i sit and watch this justin.tv stream and ruin the game for myself i simply shake my head in dissapointment. Piracy breeds more piracy and this is why. I for one refuse to take part in it, but this IS the exact reason why.

You've got a point, BUT not all stores have it yet. It would be a bummer if everyone just started selling it randomly.

I for one bought ME1 on 360, and have ME2 360 version preordered (I simply have too much respect for Bioware not to buy it). But I don't think trying out the PC version will do anyone any harm, except that, of course, some people are never actually going to buy it... sadly.

You can't stop piracy just like you can't stop internet porn. It's part of life now. Every counter-measure they could/will come up with will get broken and/or bypassed. While releasing the game early may sound good there is probably a lot of stuff involved that we can't even consider. Not just contracts with the publishers but on the store side as well. The best thing I can tell ya is take a deep breath and avoid anything that will make you angry. If watching Justn.tv is making you angry then stop and wait patiently for the game and have a clear conscience that you are doing what you believe is right.

and thats another thing thats so stupid. obviously im ignorant to the subject at hand, but dont you think you'd make more money releasing the game with the same release date? why seperate by country? US this date then EU 7 days later? its dumb and it just seems like old rules that need to be changed but people havent gotten around to do it yet.

I don't quite understand, are you asking EA/Bioware to get rid of piracy, or make it so that pirates can dictate the release date of games? =P

I want to transfer my save, and downloading a pirated ME2 on dial up would be... unpractical.

im not saying let pirates dictate release dates, just plan in advance for the inevitable. thats all im saying. nobody can stop piracy nobody can do it but planning in advance when u know its going to happen is better than acting surprised everytime it happens to you...

Does not matter how you discuss it nor who's side your on.  It is against forum rules to discuss it at all period....

Livemmo = Biggest and worst whiner ever on the forums that spams up with whiner threads. *cough*

Obiously most people know that ther are piracy going on on evry single game that is bound to come out before the release date. No need to whine about it since we can't do anything about it!

It's a little late for this to make a difference now, at least for those of us on preorder.

It's true. Stick method doesn't work. You need to make a carrot available only to legit customers.

It is YOUR problem if you are spoiling the game for yourself. No one is forcing you to watch the feed on justin. You sound a lot like a spoiled brat who can´t get what you want when you want and decide to come her whine about it.

 This is you ---->:crying: (joking)

LOL.....take a deep breath and just wait man. Sorry if i sounded to harsh. I kind of know what you are feeling but release early because of piracy or whatever is not the answer. It would only send the message that pirates can do anything, including changing a release date.

Normally I wouldn't care about piracy or piracy release dates, but this time it just enrages me beyond believe!

As to the above poster who said waiting is the right thing, downloading now and buying on release is still the right thing imho since you still pay for the content, you just 'tried' it before buying it. Not saying im going to, don't get me wrong, not with ME2 I won't, too much BioWare respect to do that.

But I do have to admit it's hard to ignore ><'

It's great actualy, just some members stick out ... right? :innocent:

Most of us have pre-purchased, won't touch any warez crap and don't feel entitled to stuff. Sure, it is a bit sucky to have to wait for digital release by regions, but old business practices die hard.

Steam unlock in less then a week ...

We get it 3 days later if you go by the official release dates. I'd expect EU copies to start circling on probably the 26th at the earliest due to shops getting pre-orders out in time (don't forget Star Trek: Online and BioShock 2 are out very soon, so they'll maybe be clearing shelf space both in store and in the warehouses). EA/BioWare have nothing to do with when stockists release copies, although they can (somehow) deal with it.

It's not a money question at all. Compared to retail releases in each region, cross-region purchases are minimal so they're not overly affected by release dates.
