People are playing this game right now. Not because they went out and bought it, no because it was leaked. I however, like many other loyal bioware fans will sit and wait until the street date and pay the proper price for the game.
Heres my problem with this and honestly it has nothing to do with money or anything like that. It's simply not fair that these people can out and play this game for free while we the paying customers need to wait an extra 5 days to play the same exact game. Its not fair to us just like its not fair to you the devs that put so much hard work into this game only to see it pirated.
I understand you have contracts and other crap that wont let you release the game early, but seriously, if not only to even the sides for us the loyal customers, do it to increase profit. When you as a game developer see that your game is pirated just send the order to release the game. Why is that so hard? The stores have the game. We all know the stores have the game. Just release the damn thing it make it easier on both of us.
As i sit and watch this justin.tv stream and ruin the game for myself i simply shake my head in dissapointment. Piracy breeds more piracy and this is why. I for one refuse to take part in it, but this IS the exact reason why.
heres the problem with your statement:
First of all, BioWare can't control Pirates, secondly, had BioWare released the game a week earlier, don;t you think that only means the pirates will pirate it a weak earlier, so you'd still be pitching a fit.
Lastly, BioWare set a street date, now that they've done so and all stores have acted accordingly as far as ordering a set number of copies, by law they have the right to release the game on the same date for competition sake. Your argument is quite selfish given you are driven simply by your desire to play the game and obvious jealousy of those already playing. We all want to play the game, but there are rules and guideline (legal) ones that companies must abide by.
Just be patient and the game will be in your lap in no time. We all feel as passionate as you, but theres more to this world than just gamers who want to play a game, there is a system to how this commerce works. learn it and you'll understand a lot more and maybe gain some patience.
Also, yes there are pirates out there and IMO they are jerks that need to have their behinds kicked (PG13 version)
Yet, there are people who pirate games who have every intention to buy the game and will. Then you have the people who simply got lucky and found a store with an idiot or two in it who sold the game early. There are people who get rich by nefarious means, and its a part of life (unfortunately). Overall just suck it up and be patient.
