You can't stop piracy just like you can't stop internet porn. It's part of life now. Every counter-measure they could/will come up with will get broken and/or bypassed. While releasing the game early may sound good there is probably a lot of stuff involved that we can't even consider. Not just contracts with the publishers but on the store side as well. The best thing I can tell ya is take a deep breath and avoid anything that will make you angry. If watching Justn.tv is making you angry then stop and wait patiently for the game and have a clear conscience that you are doing what you believe is right.

Theres this certain quest with Garrus that I went to, something about organ harvesting, and 6 krogan testicles...Anyways, I took the paragon route and Shepard said something rather profound.  I'd like to add it in.

I think it went like; "you cant control what other do, you can only control how you react, in the end, thats all that matters."

People are playing this game right now. Not because they went out and bought it, no because it was leaked. I however, like many other loyal bioware fans will sit and wait until the street date and pay the proper price for the game.

Heres my problem with this and honestly it has nothing to do with money or anything like that. It's simply not fair that these people can out and play this game for free while we the paying customers need to wait an extra 5 days to play the same exact game. Its not fair to us just like its not fair to you the devs that put so much hard work into this game only to see it pirated.

I understand you have contracts and other crap that wont let you release the game early, but seriously, if not only to even the sides for us the loyal customers, do it to increase profit. When you as a game developer see that your game is pirated just send the order to release the game. Why is that so hard? The stores have the game. We all know the stores have the game. Just release the damn thing it make it easier on both of us.

As i sit and watch this justin.tv stream and ruin the game for myself i simply shake my head in dissapointment. Piracy breeds more piracy and this is why. I for one refuse to take part in it, but this IS the exact reason why.

heres the problem with your statement:

First of all, BioWare can't control Pirates, secondly, had BioWare released the game a week earlier, don;t you think that only means the pirates will pirate it a weak earlier, so you'd still be pitching a fit.

Lastly, BioWare set a street date, now that they've done so and all stores have acted accordingly as far as ordering a set number of copies, by law they have the right to release the game on the same date for competition sake. Your argument is quite selfish given you are driven simply by your desire to play the game and obvious jealousy of those already playing. We all want to play the game, but there are rules and guideline (legal) ones that companies must abide by.

Just be patient and the game will be in your lap in no time. We all feel as passionate as you, but theres more to this world than just gamers who want to play a game, there is a system to how this commerce works. learn it and you'll understand a lot more and maybe gain some patience.

Also, yes there are pirates out there and IMO they are jerks that need to have their behinds kicked (PG13 version)
Yet, there are people who pirate games who have every intention to buy the game and will. Then you have the people who simply got lucky and found a store with an idiot or two in it who sold the game early. There are people who get rich by nefarious means, and its a part of life (unfortunately). Overall just suck it up and be patient. Posted Image

"i wouldnt say im crying over it. it being unfair is a fact. its funny as soon as u say the word 'unfair' ur labeled as a whiner or crying over something. regardless, if i was really crying over it dont u think id make a youtube video of it instead? i mean how many hits would i get off something like that?!"

You complain about fair and unfair. Might as well complain about the weather. Either won't change anything besides how others see you.

I too am annoyed by this, in fact makes me wonder why I even bought the damn game considering I have to wait till the 29th to play it thanks to Bioware liking to screw over its Australian Steam customers with arbitrary delays while pirating scum are playing it right now...

You bought it to support the company and pass the message:  "give me Mass Effect 3". You will also gain a bit of DLC that the pirates never will.

To be honest, I would have pirated it if I hadn't already pre-ordered it on Steam, along with all the goodies like the OST and comic. I mean, I already spoiled a lot for myself, so eh

Sorry for the choice of words, but thats just utter bullcrap, sir.
I hope this doesn't get me the banhammer, but I've been pirating stuff for years.
When it's been released officially, there's a 99,99999...% it's been hacked aswell.
1 of the few things I didn't find are a few ebooks, and a few DLCs for a few games (because the games became 'dated' and cracking groups didn't care anymore)
Otherwise, you can find nearly everything. You can take my word on that.

@ mods, I'm just pointing out stuff here from my own experience, I'm not encouraging pirating ME2 or piracy in general.
