Well obviously you don't have a very good thought process. Regardless of what others have said about the dlc, there are obviously still LOTS of people interested in it. Otherwise these forums would be a lot quieter than they are.

I plan to pick it up and awakening, but I may not play it until I have both since I will probably be busy with ME2

The worth of the DLC is purely subjective. Why do I care whether or not someone else thinks it is worth $5 to them? Honestly. Are you that much of a sheep?

This, and honestly the internet is full of self-elected "gaming journalists" that love to give negative reviews without even knowing what they're talking about. Let alone if a software house DARES to release 1 hour of (very replayable) gameplay and price it 5 dollars. Like An hour of enjoyment multiplied by how many time you'll play through it, should be worth less than the same hour watching a movie in a teather.

Beware of the internet cheapos.

2 years of DLC. hahahahha. no.

Until the 2 years are up you may want to rethink that post. The game has been out for how long? 2-3 months? Pretty harsh to judge it on that. If they don't give us 2 years worth then they can be ransacked, but you look like a fool reall commenting after such a short period of time.

And we could argue back and forth about what release dates were missed. but it has all been said a million times already

I am assuming at least 1 review was by Fox News, and at least 1 other was probably done by Cooper Lawrence. You may also find one was done by Pat Robertson.

The issue isn't any of what I have read really....it is an issue of professionalism, excellence in execution, and maintaining a standard of quality. Their failure in these three areas has me concerned about the DLC, the expansion, and ME2. I'm no longer confident about any statements bioware has made about any of them or their quality, or even their availibility.

What platform have you got it on (since you don`t have it registered)

So in essence you are going to totally ignore the quality of the original game because they have failed to get a dlc out. The original is not perfect, but the issues with are not really huge

No I was asking 2 questions - for some reason Chrome doesn't like it when I switch between spanish and english writing - so my question marks were no longer question marks but another symbol.

If you have it on the pc then as far as I am concerned the bugs have, by and large, been ironed out; thanks to a combination of both Bioware patching the game and mods doing some of their own balancing. If you have it on the 360 (I don't know if the PS3 has the same issue) then the dex bug or whatever the issue is with archery, then I can see there is a bit more to gripe about. But my understanding is that it is much MS' fault about the patch delays as they wanted it rolled into 1 update instead of one for the patch and one for the dlc. All this is background info for the larger question of - are you going to totally disregard the quality of the original game because of the failure to produce 1 dlc?

And do you tie the performance of the Bioware team working on this dlc to the same team that worked on the original game, the release day dlc and ME2 - even though they are different teams?

Sure, they have screwed the pooch on this dlc. But I am not judging them on this one failure when they have had many previous successes. Perhaps you have not played previous Bioware games so you don't have the same affiliation toward them as I do.

Mprez is correct. You shouldn't start hating them just for one failed DLC. Sure they REALLY flunked this one, but the game itself is great. Feel free to get mad about the delays, I know ill be more hesitant to buy their future games, and im waiting for the gamer reviews to start circulating before I buy ME2.

It was a pretty messy ordeal from the start, but give second chances.

Well, I think the sad thing about this whole DLC debarkle is that it really is out there...

Anyone who wants it, went and got it...

Even a developer mentioned that the DLC itself has no problems, it is tertiary issues that is preventing its release.

The problem was it did exist for even five minutes, so the rather more efficient ****** community are proliferating it like mad.

As a PS3 user it means nothing to me, and I would never condone this practice, nor would my lawyer...

Yet because of this constant radio silence on the issue I think alot of PC users have given up on the DLC team.

I do think it is a waste to have a patch team, sequel team, and DLC team all running together when issues like this arise.

That being said, I think this is perhaps the most well supported game I have ever had on a console, and even though this will take the usual DLC half hour, I was most impressed with the other two.

*sigh*

My bet is not before mid Feb...

Besides I think he's assuming its just going to be dlcs,  Bioware has already proven they will have both dlcs and expansions..so.

My concern lies within the fact that after delivering a winner they failed to produce a weekend assignment. Do not mention 'teams' again. The expansion and ME2 are far more important to me than DLC. Poor performance is contagious. I worry that it may spread.

Has there been any update as to the problem of the DLC? Do they have a time-table as to when the problem could be fixed?

Why can't I mention teams? because it doesn't assist your theory of 'one failure so I should automatically assume everything else will until proven otherwise"?

And while I shouldn't make an assumption, I am going to assume you don't code complex games for multi-platform release. if that is the case, please don't give me that 'weekend assignment' line. If you do code games, then perhaps I can give credence to your statement.

At the end of the day, it is up to you on whether you worry about these issues or not. I just don't see how one recent failure should shatter all confidence in a company - especially with the reputation they have built up over many years. But, to each their own.

no. best way to check is to use the blue bioware button that is under the thread title on the main page where all the different threads are - it shows mod/developer posts

Good to know, thanks for the tip. So right now it's pretty much a race of what gets released first. Return to Ostagar, or Awakening. My friends an I have a betting pool going

You have got to be kidding me?  A decade of a proven track record of excellence is to be thrown out the window because they are a month late on a DLC?

That was what is so bizarre about it...it sounded like it was about to come out any minute now then suddenly...nothing.

I don't know about simultaneous,  but I have a feeling it will be February not January.  (please note personal opinion only).

The only issue I have with Feb is it must be pretty clear a lot of people here will be moving on to ME2 (apart form ps3 users without an xbox or pc and those just not at all interested). As i have said, I will be getting it, but may not play it until awakening.

You make a valid point, but consider a different perspecive.  I have been gone from this site for over a month, probably closer to two, because I got a little bored with the game.  When I last left, I recall that Return To Ostagar was going to be released "During the Holiday Season".

They announced that news a little prior to Thanksgiving & I, at the time, kinda hoped that "the Holiday Season" meant Thanksgiving, but figured it was probably Christmas.  Thanksgiving came & went with me checking pretty much every day to see if it was out, & no Return to Ostagar, so I was like, Ok, they meant Christmas/New Years, right?

I didn't play the game for a at least a month, mostly 'cause I got bored with it, but then I come here on 1/24 thinking "hey, I think I might play DA again with Return to Ostagar", only to find that they flubbed it.  To be honest, I didn't even come here first.  I just started DA & went to the Downloadable Content screen expecting to pay for RtO & it didn't show up.  My initial thought, honestly, was that there was something wrong on my end.  Which is why I came here.

I give all props to Bioware for their previous track record.  They made some of the best games ever.  Ever.  I'll give them them the benefit of the doubt on DA, but that benefit has alomst been used up, from my POV.

The Bioware forum people are really really harsh.

Don't fear the misdirected angry folks.  Laugh at us.  Recognize immaturity to disarm it.  There are angry people in life.  Don't let them keep you from doing what you want.

In other people's defense, most of that track record of Bioware's wasn't spent with EA >.>

What if by "holiday season" they meant "valentine's day holiday season". Jokes on us.
