The issue isn't any of what I have read really....it is an issue of professionalism, excellence in execution, and maintaining a standard of quality. Their failure in these three areas has me concerned about the DLC, the expansion, and ME2. I'm no longer confident about any statements bioware has made about any of them or their quality, or even their availibility.

Hold on... one late DLC means that this whole company lacks professionalism, excellence, standard of quality and whatever you can conjure up in what sounds more like a description of the British Army than a video game? Sure, it's a matter of opinion in many regards but I doubt you can say all of BioWare lacks any credibility due to one late DLC. They gave us a GREAT standalone game among many others such as KOTOR, ME1 and so forth, and this game by itself is pretty damn good as well.

Just because they fudged up one little DLC doesn't mean a game such as ME2 will be poorly done. It's a different game, group of programmers. That is like saying that a car company with six luxury cars on the market isn't reputable because one of their compact cars was delayed three months due to quality and performance checks that had to be done at their R&D facility to make sure it was safe enough to go on the road

All this boils down to " We are all damned addicts to DA, please give us more!"

Personally, I still think Bioware still makes the best games I *want* to play and in that aspect I at least have Mass Effect 2 to look forward to.

Am I pissed about the RTO non-sense? You bet I am. Will I stop buying Bioware games? Not unless you take all my credit cards away and lock me up somewhere without internet access. Frankly, I am glad that they were able to convice EA in doing something different and from what I gather from looking at what Bioware and EA are doing, is all a big learning curve while doing both DA:O and Mass Effect for the "Big One" which will be Star Wars : The Old Republic.

DLCs, micro-transactions, storyline based MMORPG and paid subscription for more content, wana bet that SWTOR won't have any of these?

Getting back to DA related stuff, someone mentioned that Bioware might scrape the "two years" of DLCs. That is possible but considering the above, I bet that this "two years of DLCs" time frame is more to learn exactly what type of DLCs would bring in the bacon and or are popular. So they might very well at this moments be taking notes as to what we CRPGers want in our DLCs and hopefully, learn from mistakes such as the RTO DLC.

My feelings on the matter (don't think I'm the only one) now go beyond not getting an extra 30 mins on my DA:O campaign, but the shocking level of customer service displayed by bioware. We got the shaft over ME1 dlc but nothing like this.

Bioware are extremely fortunate that I am a big fan of the ME franchise, but I've now decided to give up on dragon age. Keep your expansion pack, I don't care how good it is you screwed up.

i've actually made the same choice as chester here. it's most likely ea's fault, given the way they handled the delay. either way, they wont be getting my money for the dlc, or the expansion at this point. honestly even lost the desire to play the old republic. mass effect 2's already pre-paid, but i dont see myself supporting this company beyond that.

Pffft Drama Queen.  We already have far more DLC than MAss Effect had.  Nothing like this?  What a joke.

I just wanna know "what in the heck could have screwed up the release date for RtO and the TOTAL silence from the Devs or mods about it; except for the mods to delete or freeze forums B'Sing about it"?

What is so wrong with that?

I will still purchase games from BioWare but will be a little-bit more hesitant because of the publisher and the delays/silence.

BTW Got a notice from EAstore that my ME2 has shipped!!!! ;D

I didn't read the whole 12 pages of this thread but the DLC is delayed and not canceled right? So I don't understand the frustration here. Bioware are probably fixing the bugs. Imagine if they just release the buggy DLC anyway. That would be horrible.

I dont really mind if it is delayed, but what really narks the masses is when they just dont communicate with their customers about why and how long it will be delayed for, its a little bit rude just to say nothing, and why then did they delete the 300+ page thread that was already discussing and speculating as to why and what is happening to this DLC and thus avoiding this stupid flame war that is currently going on.

You can already get a working DLC on the pc if you know where to look and some people already have the xbox version. SO i am guessing some people are feeling jealous they have no dlc?

You have got to be kidding me?  A decade of a proven track record of excellence is to be thrown out the window because they are a month late on a DLC?

In other people's defense, most of that track record of Bioware's wasn't spent with EA >.>

Nikara; you hit the nail directly on the head!!! EA made BioWare an offer they couldn't refuse; now look at what we have. Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

acquiring the DLC through means other than from here, will constitute an account "timeout"

If you aren't registered, I suggest you do. that is of course, if you even can register.

I blame EA on this though, not Bioware. Bioware for sure, has to make sure the game / DLCs work, since they are the ones making it but since Bioware is own and part of EA, I am pretty sure what they can say or cannot say is EA's doing.
Both aren't clean on this but as long as I eventually get my fix, I don't really care.

@Chester
Seriously buddy, not to say that you cannot feel the way you do but you gotta your facts right or no one will take you seriously, ME 1 has exactly 2 DLCs. Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station. Thats it. DA:O has quite a few more then that I would say. Stone Prisoner + Warden's Keep + other small stuff that people who didn't get the collector's / deluxe editions have to buy if they want them. Not to mention an expansion on the way which ME1 does not have. (I would have loved to have played an expansion for ME1 to tie me into the three years between ME1 and ME2 storywise)
Then again, this is the "internets" so respect, or the lack of, isn't really that important anyways, but I'm just saying, you know what I mean?

This is totally untrue; if it was the case then you would have an account "timeout" for every mod you D/L or use from any other site.

Image IPB That is what I was trying to convey. What was the SNAFU that was so BIG to delay RtO for almost 3 months (if you count Nov)?  And why are the Developers and mods so QUIET on this, but they will delete or lock whole forums about it but NOT give any constructive comments on it?
Just had a thought.......Image IPB maybe they are trying to get stimulus money!!!!! Image IPB

edit: fixed grammar Image IPB

And another conspiracy is born..

Oh and Merlin I'm not sure if you are joking or what..but we have been cautioned about talking about illegal versions of the dlc, you might want to check the site rules in regards to that.

i might be more concerned with this if i didn't realise yesterday that i had deleted my mass effect save, well at least i know i can finish that before friday.

I'm sure that by the time i'm done with mass effect 2 they will be finished with Rto, at the worst Rto has to be done before swtor right?

pot meet kettle?

using a "MOD" is not the same, as acquiring software intended for LEGAL distribution, downloaded illegally.

or is that just to confusing for you?

No idea..my attitude is..its done when its done. Once released on the market it will be there whenever people are ready to come back and download it.   If they don't come back, I presume they would be too busy with either ME2 or another game.

okay haven't read the whole thread. RTO isn't out right? What I'm wondering is why they have the links to PC, X0BOX, PS3, checkouts to pay for it?

When I saw the links activate I thought, WOO it's out, and paid for 400 bioware points, then found out that it's not out.

Serves me right for not looking into it too much, but if they allow you to pay for the unit price from a link under the RTO Add-On section, you'd think it would be out =(
